The diary game. A Sunday of Guest Arrangements, Family Bonding and Daily Responsibilities
Hello, dear friends! How is everyone doing? I hope you are all well and enjoying your time with your loved ones, no matter where you are. Today, I want to share another day of my life with you all. I hope you find some time to read my post and that you find it enjoyable enough to upvote.
Today was Sunday, and a few guests arrived at our place. For this reason, my brothers and I had been busy with arrangements for the past few days, and today was the day they were supposed to come. They were my sister-in-law’s brother, his wife, and their son, who is just one and a half years old but very clever.
I got up very early in the morning to give the final touch to the arrangements. After performing ablution and offering the prayers, I started my day. As it was quite cold outside, I couldn’t continue my work for long and stayed indoors for some time to keep warm. It was around 9:30 by then. I had my breakfast a little later, and at around 11 AM, the guests arrived. From that moment, my work began.
I first served them some eatables, and meanwhile, the power went off. It was time to arrange a gas heater. Unfortunately, power cuts are not very common here, but this time we were unlucky. Still, we had a spare gas cylinder in store, so it didn’t bother us much. I quickly brought it out and turned on the gas heater near the guests, as they were feeling cold after arriving.
Next, arrangements were made for Kashmiri special kehwa, the responsibility of which was taken by my mother. She has great experience in preparing such drinks for special occasions, and her kehwa is truly unmatched. Since it is something special, none of us interferes in the process. Once it was ready, I served it to the guests.
While waiting for lunch, I got a chance to play with their child. He is very fond of cars and, although he cannot speak properly yet, he can easily recognize his father’s car keys and others as well. He knows what to do and what not to do, as his mother has been teaching him good habits from a very early age. Whenever he feels something is wrong, he quickly says that his mother will not be pleased with it. This is a very good quality in such a small child, and he became the main source of entertainment for the whole day.
When it was time for lunch, I again served the guests, and the work continued. In between, I had to go to the market to buy some important items needed at home. It was a special occasion for all of us because my sister-in-law’s brother, being a doctor, gets very little time to spend with relatives. He had been planning this visit for more than a month, and finally, he managed to come.
Later in the evening, they left, and it was quite an emotional moment for my sister-in-law. Being newly married, she still gets emotional when her relatives leave. This is natural, as she has spent her whole life in her parental home with her brothers and other family members, and after marriage, she has to adapt to a completely new environment. Although my mother treats her like her own daughter, such feelings are natural and understandable.
By the time the guests left, I was completely exhausted. I took some rest and slept for a while to refresh myself. After that, I went out to buy groceries and milk from the market. Later, I returned home and read a few chapters from the engineering book I am currently reading.
I had a light dinner because I had my lunch quite late, as I couldn’t eat on time due to serving the guests. After that, I spent some time on social media, which has become a part of life now, as it helps us stay informed about what is happening around us. Finally, I went to sleep at around 11:30 PM.
Thank you for going through my post. Have a great time ahead.
