The diary game || Better life with steem|| A visit to "Kurichi Lake"
Hi friends,
The day before yesterday, we visited Coimbatore. While there, we went to the lake known as Kurichi Kulam. It is a very popular spot in Coimbatore, where people come to relax and pass the time. The area features a beautiful garden and offers excellent opportunities for photography. If you visit during the summer, the breeze blowing across the lake makes for a truly refreshing and pleasant experience.
I have visited this place many times before, and on several occasions, I have written about it with great enthusiasm. This time, I visited along with my husband and son. I am going to share our experience here. My son kept insisting that we take him somewhere; so, given the time constraints—and since we were already in Coimbatore—I decided to bring him to this lake. It turned out to be a novel experience for him because, during his previous visits when he was much younger, he lacked the awareness to truly appreciate and enjoy the surroundings.
This time, however, he thoroughly enjoyed himself. Since we visited during the afternoon—the hottest part of the day—the crowd was sparse; nevertheless, there were still some people around, consisting mostly of school and college students, along with a few tourists. We walked around and explored the area; the water looked incredibly cool and beautiful. We took photographs of the boat house, where several visitors were enjoying boat rides. We also posed for pictures in front of the "I Love Kovai" signage located there.
Afterward, we stopped to admire the sculptures of various birds on display. These sculptures were exquisite; they had been crafted using scrap iron—specifically, spare parts from machinery—which were welded together with meticulous precision. They looked incredibly lifelike, bearing a striking resemblance to real birds. Sculptures of birds such as herons, pelicans, and eagles were beautifully designed and showcased for public viewing. It was truly astonishing to observe how the various spare parts had been assembled and integrated into the artwork—specifically, components like nuts, bolts, gears, and chains had been utilized to create these magnificent pieces.
We admired all of these sights, took photographs, and praised the artistic talent of the creators behind them. Afterward, we proceeded to a small refreshment stall located nearby. They were serving ice cream, cold drinks, and snacks; deciding to have some ice cream, we purchased and enjoyed three cones. Given the heat, the cool ice cream tasted incredibly delicious and felt wonderfully refreshing.
Since we visited during the afternoon—right at the peak of the midday sun—there were very few people around. Generally, this lake attracts large crowds during the morning and evening hours; many people come here in the mornings for jogging, and in the evenings for both jogging and relaxation. As the lake is situated in a very central part of Coimbatore, it is typically bustling with activity during the evenings; however, it was quite surprising—almost remarkable—that not a single person could be spotted in the jogging park during our midday visit. I took photographs of the surroundings, recalling a previous visit in the evening when the area had been so packed that there was barely enough room to stand.
The experience of visiting this lake the day before yesterday was truly wonderful. I hope you enjoyed reading my diary entry as well. Please be sure to share your thoughts in my comments section.
