The Dairy Game: A very stressful Day ( 01-04-2026)

Hi, it’s your girl kemkem1 , and I’m here to tell you about my story today. From the moment I woke up, I already knew the day was going to be a stressful, but I had made up my mind to stay focused and get everything done. I needed to process cassava into garri, so that meant I had to go to the farm first. I woke up very early in the morning, got myself ready, and prepared for the work ahead. After putting everything in place, I set out for the farm to harvest the cassava. The morning air was calm, and even though I knew the work would be tiring, I kept encouraging myself. When I got to the farm, I started harvesting the cassava carefully. It took time and energy, but I was determined. After harvesting enough cassava, I packed them and brought everything back home. Once I got home, I didn’t waste time. I began peeling the cassava immediately so I could move on to the next stage of making garri. Even though I was already feeling a little tired, I kept going because I wanted to finish what I started. That was how my day began.

While I was still at the farm, I noticed something else that caught my attention. I saw some plantains that were already getting ripe and strong on the tree. Because of where the plantain was planted, I knew it was not very safe to leave it there for too long. People often pass through that area, and sometimes they take things that do not belong to them when no one is around. I did not want my plantains to be stolen, so I decided to act quickly. As I was preparing to leave the farm, I carefully cut down a full bunch of plantain. It was quite heavy, but I managed to carry it along with me on my way home. Even though I was already tired from harvesting cassava, I felt it was better to take it than to lose it. When I got home, I dropped the plantain and left it aside because that was not what I planned to eat for the day. Still, I was happy I brought it back. I knew it would be useful for another meal on a different day. I also started thinking about how I would prepare it to taste really good when the time comes.

After coming back from the farm, I dropped everything I carried and decided to continue with the cassava processing. I finished peeling it and took it out for grinding since I was already feeling tired and needed to complete that part quickly. After grinding the cassava, I returned home feeling very exhausted, but I also realized I was very hungry because I had not eaten anything since morning. I did not want to delay any longer, so I quickly moved to the kitchen to prepare something to eat. I decided to cook rice, and I also prepared some goat meat that I had bought earlier. While the rice was cooking, I made a simple salad and mixed it with a little salad cream to go along with the meal. In no time, everything was ready, and I served myself. Honestly, the food was very delicious. The rice, the well-seasoned goat meat, and the fresh salad all came together perfectly. As I ate, I felt so relieved, like my body was finally getting the energy it needed after all the stress of the day. After eating, I felt more relaxed and satisfied. I knew I needed to freshen up because I had somewhere to go, so I went to take my bath and started getting ready.

After freshening up, I arranged the clothes I would wear for the burial because it was going to take place the next day. However, I decided to leave that same day because I needed to go early and assist with some preparations. It was my pastor’s brother’s burial, and it was very important for me to be there and offer my support. So, after getting everything ready, I picked up my bag and left the house for the venue. When I arrived, I joined the others who wereb already working and helping to put things in place. There was a lot to be done, especially with the food preparations for the burial. I was given afang leaves to prepare for the soup that would be cooked. I carefully picked the afang leaves, making sure to remove any dirt and unwanted parts. After that, I washed them thoroughly and allowed the water to drain. Then I dried them a little and began slicing them into smaller pieces so they would be ready for cooking. I made sure everything was done neatly because the soup would be served the next day. After I finished preparing the afang leaves, I felt tired, so I decided to rest for a while before returning to continue helping with other meals.
