The Diary Game - 01/01/2023 || Hiking And Searching For Palmwine

A very warm greetings to you all dear steemians in the Hindwhale Community and the Steemit blockchain at large.

It has been a wonderful new day, new week, new month and new year with great activities. Hope you dear steemians are having a great day also enjoying the holidays.

My diary game was awesome, adventurous, memorable and healthy. Permit me to share with you how it went.

I had the intention of remaining indoor till 11.am before I leave for the service, but two of my friends shows up with the motive of checking on another friend of ours who was suppose to arrange for a sit out that we will be having later in the day. I join the two and we move together to his house which is not far from mine, and on getting there we met the wife who told us that he went down the stream to see the vegetables farm he is cultivating. And down the stream road we move, luckily we found him watering the plants. Climbing and descending down the hills and overlooking the environment seems adventurous. Unfortunately I did not go along with my phone to have taken the pictures all the way.

We waited for him to finish watering the vegetables and after that he jump into the stream to take a cool bath, I had no option than to join him to have a cool bath in the stream, in fact it has been a very long time I had such a feeling and experience of swimming in the water. What an unplanned experience!

After the bath, it is now time to return back, and climbing up the hills becomes another breath taking experience as I was breathing with my mouth and nose all together. What a wonderful hiking experience! It was at this point that I exclaimed - how wish I came with my phone! Then the second friend, Itoro by name said that he is with his phone, and I ask if he could take some shot and later transfer them to me which he agreed. So here are some of the action pictures :

The walk and hiking is a good way to burn calories and increase my stamina as well improve my breathing not to mention the mental alartness that I experienced. It was fun and adventurous. I have unfact had an unplanned exercise. Time to go to service.

Afternoon And Evening Diary

Soon after I return from the service, I had some funny experience as my walk took me and my friends to Uruan local government in search of where to buy palmy that we will use to enjoy ourselves while sitting out. The six of us make the move leaving others at the venue.

Before embarking on the journey, we should have call the palmwine tapper and booked for the palmy, but unfortunately we did not, so on getting to his place, we were disappointed since all the palm wine have been bought by other customers who also enjoyed it in this festive period. The man then directed us to another seller still within his neighborhood.

We make the move and we were able to locate the young man but unfortunately he too had just sold out the remaining 25 litters, but for the benefit of we coming that far, he ask us to wait for him while he goes to the creek and check if there is any available one.

Meanwhile, while waiting, we help ourselves out with the roasted maggots delicacy on display.

The maggots is gotten from the palm-tree that have been cut down and sometimes harvested the palmwine and the maggots then enjoy eating the tissue part of the palm-tree. When it is harvested, it can be cook or fried or roasted and serve with wine, preferably palmwine.

After waiting for about 30 minutes, the young man returned, furtunately he succeeded in giving us 10 litters from the 25 litres he brought back, this is because other people are already seated to sap the palmwine alongside the maggots. We paid him and left for Uyo.

On getting to Uyo we then settled into enjoying the palmwine with roasted fish that had already been prepared in the native way. In fact if you ask me, I will tell you that the taste is worth the stress.
