The Diary Game: 13th May, 2026. Slow Day, Excess Spending And just "Glory to God".
Hi guys, it’s Otidi again. On today’s episode, I’ll tell you how my day went. Today is the 13th of May, 2026.
My day started early because I needed to be somewhere.
Yesterday, I took my printer to a repair guy, and he wasn’t able to finish it. He asked me to come early this morning to meet him at my boss’s shop so I could get it as soon as he was done. I went there early and waited, but the guy didn’t show up. My boss didn’t come early either, so I left the printer at my boss’s place and went to open my shop, thinking the guy would come and fix it so I could go back later. But he still didn’t show up. I went back to the shop, but without a printer, there’s not much I can do. Minutes after I got to my shop, a woman came for photocopying. I had to tell her the printer wasn’t available, and she left. That’s just how it went. Yesterday was slow and more of a spending day. I thank God for that because some days you make money, and some days you spend it. Yesterday, I spent a lot. My gen had a leakage, so I had to get a mechanic to fix it too. I sat in the shop from 12 PM to 4 PM doing nothing but just scrolling through my phone. I got hungry and ate my regular kunu, and bread to regain my strength. Business was dry. Everywhere was quiet. I just scrolled through social media and caught up with an old friend. In the evening, I called my boss, and the repair guy still hadn’t come. I told my boss I’d pick up the printer the next day if it wasn’t fixed. Then I had a conversation with my neighbor about fixing my gen. He called a mechanic guy for me and that's was how he showed up and started fixing the gen.
While fixing it, he rushed and spilled about 3,000 naira worth of fuel I had bought. I was angry, but it is what it is. Those days happen. We cleaned it up, and my student helped me clean the shop too.
But after fixing one thing, another issue came up with the gen, so we had to fix that again. By the time we were done, it was already 7 PM and everywhere was dark already.
I closed the shop quickly, met my brother, and we went home together. When I got home, I remembered I needed to shave my hair.
I went to the salon at almost 11 PM, got it done, and came back home stressed. All I wanted was to sleep, so I quickly took my bath and crashed on my bed immediately. I woke up an hour or two later, picked up my pen and book, and decided to document my day for you guys. I consider all the spending necessary for every business and I am grateful I have a means available to fix my equipment. I consider it one of those maintenance that keeps business going and every business experiences it. Its just ok!
Soooo, That was how my pretty day went.
