Church Diary Game || 18/1/2026 || I learned a lot about the powers of prayer and fasting in church today.
Hello, great Steemians. Today's service was full of wonders and great dominion. I learned a lot today about the importance of prayer and fasting, and I'm here to share with you what I learned today in church.
Today being the third Sunday of the month and also marital breakthrough service, I went to church this morning (Living Faith Church, Oron, where I'm schooling) full of hope and expectations. I arrived at the church at 7:09 am. So when I arrived at the church, one of the pastors was opening the service with prayers, and then the choir was called upon to sing praises and worship as usual. We sang and danced to the glory of God; other activities were done in the church, and offerings were collected. And the sermon began. This is my best part because I learn a lot from it.
The resident minister, Pastor Chucks, was our preacher today. He taught on the topic: Engaging in the power of prayer and fasting for dominion. Our text was taken from the book of Isaiah 58:1-8.
I learned today that the altar of fasting and prayer is the altar that expresses answers; fasting and prayer also add speed to our prayers. I learned that after fasting and prayers the devil may gather, but we will still be in charge because it empowers us for dominion and makes us have an encounter with God for powers and dominion.
I learned that the reasons why I must get set for a prophetic encounter are because
Every prophetic scripture is a sworn verdict that must come to pass and that nothing can change what God has planned in our lives. Isaiah 14:24
Every prophetic scripture is a covenant that reveals its course as long as the earth remains. Matthew 24:35
Every prophetic scripture is applied at all times to whoever believes, so therefore how it will be and how it will happen is not your problem; your problem is just to believe in him. Luke 1:45.
So since today was the marital breakthrough encounter service, Pastor Chucks also taught about marriage. In this sermon, I learned what I must do to secure a glorious marital destiny. What I learned includes
I must be born again and remain in love with Christ. John 3:3. I learned that it is the life that I live in Christ that takes me to heaven, not the number of times I go to church. I also learned that people can go to church but are not born again.
The second thing I learned is to remain in kingdom advancement endeavors because praying for the kingdom and winning souls for Christ attracts marital blessings too. Matthew 6:33.
And the third thing is to beware of pride because pride can delay marital settlement/breakthrough (Proverbs 15:33).
So after the sermon we were given powerful prayer points to pray on in the church, and then Pastor Chucks specifically prayed for all the singles in the church today, and after that he prayed for us all, and then we all shared the grace and went home.
Thank you.
