Hello great Steemians, I hope you are all doing good today. I would love to tell you all how my experiences on the postnatal ward went today. This was actually my first posting and first day at the University of Uyo Teaching Hospital (UUTH), Uyo.

This morning when we resumed at the hospital, we were all asked to gather for a brief meeting in the nursing administration block, so we all assembled there for the meeting. During the meeting, I decided to take some shots with my colleagues.

When we were done with the meeting, we were shared to our different wards, and today happens to be the day I was posted to the Post-natal Ward with four of my colleagues. While we were waiting for the lady assigned to give us the orientation, I decided to take photos of myself in the hospital.

Shortly the lady came and showed us the different wards we will be working in throughout our clinical posting in UUTH. After the orientation, I went to my ward, which was the postnatal ward.

When we resumed the nurse intent that was there showed us around the ward, and then the nurse in charge of the ward told us all we needed to know about the ward. Currently we had only one patient in the ward due to the ongoing doctors' strike, so we only had one patient who gave birth to a bouncing baby boy. The mother and the baby were both fine and in good healthy condition, waiting to be discharged.

Since there was not much work to do, the nurses in charge of the ward began to question us on several topics in midwifery. Seriously, the questions were suffocating because we just began a new semester, and some of the questions that we were asked have not yet been taught.

When we told the nurse in charge that some of her questions were not yet taught in school, she then asked us to research the topics, and then each of us would present what we've researched to her, so we all did as she asked, and we presented what we researched, and if we made mistakes, she would correct us. Then we began to learn and were able to answer her questions until the time for the morning shift elapsed. We were treated very well in the ward by everyone, and it was comfortable being there today.
