To make Idlis, first gather all the ingredients. I will wash one cup of rice thoroughly. Then I will soak this rice in water. I will soak one teaspoon of fenugreek seeds along with the rice. I will let the rice soak for about 5 hours.

Now I will take a small bowl and brush some oil in it. When I finish brushing the oil, I will take a little batter from the idli batter in it. I have taken this batter in two small bowls.

Step- 6

Now I will put water in a big pot. When the water gets hot, I will put a stand in it and place two small bowls on it. Then I will put the lid on and wait for 10 to 15 minutes. After 15 minutes, I will check with a knife whether the idli is cooked or not. If the knife comes out clean, my idli is cooked. When I remove it from the stand and unmold it from the bowl, my idli is ready to serve.

✅ What is traditional steam cooking? Why is it considered healthy?

Traditional Steam Cooking is where food is cooked through water steam rather than by immersing it directly in water. In this case, the food is cooked by boiling water in a steamer or a large pot and placing a mesh over it. The food will be cooked in the steam of the boiling water. For example, steamed pitha, steamed shrimp, steamed puli, etc.

Steamed food retains its vitamins and other nutrients. Therefore, steamed food is healthier than fried food. Moreover, fried food causes various stomach problems including gastritis. Steamed food is easily digested, so this food is suitable for people of all ages. The original taste and smell of steamed food is preserved. Steamed food is an ideal food for those who want to lose weight.
