My experience, observation and analysis on last month game 🏀

We have seen alot of great people in life especially successful people in the field of sports, these people all started from somewhere, a place or situation that was very bad and with their passion and faith they kept on moving ahead and never gave up till when God finally blessed them. Am a lover of basketball and I have dreams of also joining the NBA someday and I know it won't be easy at all. I just need to continue doing what's right.

I stopped going to a basketball court last two years because the transportation cost became high as the place is very far from my home. The basketball court in my area is very bad and the government has refused to fix it. My high school classmates and I decided to be playing basketball in the streets, one of us got a ball and we were teaching ourselves, hoping to be great someday as long as we are consistent. Playing it on the street isn't easy at all but I believe we will survive, we just had to start from somewhere that's why we play there.

On the 25th of October 2024, my high school classmates and I gathered again for the first time in more than 4 months, because they have all been busy in school and I myself was always writing different exams to be eligible for admission this year. They were on holiday when we gathered and I have already written my last exam for this year on the 24th day of September.

For the first time since we started playing on the street, I came early and I was so excited, before I normally come late and they will end the game when am not satisfied because I haven't played much. We were six in number and the street isn't wide so we are always 2 in each team which means is three teams. While two teams were playing the one of the players in the 3rd team was snapping pictures and also making videos as we were playing.

I did that too when my team was temporary out. We started doing this when a passerby told us that is very important for us to take videos and pictures while playing because it will benefit us. This was already in my mind because I have always wanted to have so many basketball games pictures, posted here in steemit. We kept on doing what we love, passerbys were distracting us because we can't play while they are passing because we will mistakenly hit them as well as cars that were also passing by.

The game was very lively that day and I think that was the best game I have played with them. There was a time we all decided to shoot the ball inside the net from far but not very far and most of us were getting it perfectly, I did mine and it entered inside the next, I was quite surprised. I have always trained for that skilled with my younger brother's football at home.

I observed that we have really improved, that's a very good thing to say because this little team of ours have made alot of sacrifices, I remember when we were even playing under the rain and the disadvantage that day was that the ball was slipping from our hands. Back to previous game, one of us who taught me steemit really surprised us that day as he kept on shooting the ball directly inside the next from a far distance.

For some of you that might be confused, shooting means throwing the ball with our hands towards the net upward. NBA players get three points for doing that perfectly in a game and each time they scored like that consistently in a game, their points increases faster and it serve as a threat to their opponents.

I observed I was scratching my opponents with my fingers mistakenly. Basketball players don't keep nails because it has disadvantages, you will end up scratching your opponents repeatedly and that's a foul. If your nails is long and they give you a pass from far the strong basketball will hit those nails and they will make you feel alot of pains. But my nails were totally short, my issue with nails is that they are short and still sharp, I don't know why. I thought of using a glove while playing next time but it won't allow me bounce the ball freely

I arrived home and kept on thinking of that day in my mind, we didn't take pictures but only did videos, the pictures in this post are screenshots from videos we made. I kept on making some analysis from my experience and observation. I think we really need a basketball court because the street himself has it's own disadvantage even if we all need to start from somewhere just like I said at the beginning of this post.

The road is thin and is not wide, is even making almost all of us to not perform some skills that requires space. The worst part is that there's even gutter there, we are avoiding not to end us falling inside the gutter and we keep on maintaining ourselves as we weren't comfortable entirely. If we play in a standard basketball court with two nets we will definitely improve faster, we just have one net more and I know it won't affect us even if we get to a standard court.

I have analyzed that we all need our own basketball, is only one of us that has a basketball and because of this we go to his neighborhood to play, yeah his house is beside the road we play, that fence in the pictures is the fence of his house. This guy now plays better than all us because he trains himself with the ball almost every week at home.

If I get a ball for myself I will improve faster because I will be consistent. Currently the price of one original basketball in Nigeria is worth 50 steem. I can't buy it because is my want and not my needs, I spend my little money on my needs and also fees for school. I will be very excited if someone surprises me with a basketball one day 🫶.
