RE: Treat Yourself to a New Bible - January 26, 2026

I am not sure if it is appropriate to call the Quran "a bible." The term "bible" refers to a collection of books. The term comes from the Greek biblia. In many nations the term Bibliotech means library ... a place with many books.

The Quran claims to be a single complete work revealed to a single person. The Bible is all messy as it has stories from a wide variety of people at different times.

I understand that some Islamic scholars claim that, since the Quran is perfect and complete, it should not be compared a bible which was compiled by hundreds of authors over a long period of time.
