Protest Have My California On Edge
Hello, everyone. I hope all of you are safe and feel ing okay. If you live in the USA there are a lot of places that maybe you don't feel as stay as before. This week I show you want the current events to have my family looking into. It is nice to have this group to share it in as I know they are aware of what is going on If you are in California think about joining the Discord it is a good place to meet some more people into posting. They also plan fun meet-ups. Make sure to follow @socalsteemit to take part in this contest. I am going to get into what I wanted to share with you this time.
Today after talking about it for the past few days my wife and I went to the gun range with a friend of ours. He has a side job/hobby of building guns and buy and trade them. So he had a lot of guns for us to try. It is always pretty cool when you are talking to your buddies that are into guns. They are almost always super ready to go teach you how to shoot or go shooting. It was funny we reached out to a few to ask some questions and all of them wanted to teach us. We even talked to a neighbor about it and he was also willing. People seem to have an odd idea about people who own guns. That they are odd or scary. Yet most of the time they are really nice people ready to take you to the range bring the guns and the ammo and expect nothing. Just like our buddy Jimmy that took us. The place was packed. We had to wait just under an hour to get in and when we left the waiting room was still full.
We started with a 22 handgun, Then a compact Glock, compact Glock with the full barrel, normal Glock with a smaller grip, the full-size Glock 17 then Bretta px4, and full size. My wife likes the little 22 as it was really easy to shoot. But we wanted to get a 9mm weapon she didn't enjoy the and of the Glocks but when we shot the Bretta px4 she found the one she liked the best. I have to say it is very easy to use a gun. Was one of the few that I could group in spot on the target. I should be a owner of one of those in about 2 to 3 weeks. Lol, good old California waiting times. All of this might be over before I get my gun but for sure with what is going on I felt it was time to get my own.
That is a little video of us firing the one we plan to buy. I really wish my California wasn't pushing me to do this. I live in Huntington Beach. Some might know that it is home to a few groups that are considered alt-right. I am not happy they are here but no the less it has made some areas of my city targeted in the past. I worry because I live near a mall. I have to say that the videos of people burning stuff are what worries me. I don't care so much if you broke a window or even stole my TV but you burn my home and my babies might not get out. I will try to get them but the layout of the house is one that there is only one way out other than the windows. I understand that and would have them out a window as fast as I can but the worry is I can't get to their room. If that one hallway is too hot. Say worry anyone has about a fire. Some might think I shouldn't worry. But I have always been one to be safe and not sorry.
I will leave you just saying that I hope you are all well and safe and healthy. We are dealing with some strange times. I am not sure when the protesting will stop. The rioting has slowed but not stopped. I just hope they know better than to come into residential houses. I now know my neighbors are ready to defend their homes and the last thing I want to hear about is people getting shot all over my street. But I also don't want to see it burn.
Tough situation and hope you guys stay safe! I think some personal protection is prudent given what you described!
Ugh, I was watching footage from the Huntington Beach protests on HB’s Instagram page the other day. I don’t live down there, (am up in Seattle) but usually go to HB once a year for concerts, beach vibes & surf shops. All the footage of the protests (the end the lockdown crowd a bit ago followed by the angry white old dudes trying to beat up the BLM protestors....) it made me sad. It was also interesting to me a as a tourist/outsider to hear people from HB struggling with parts of the community I had been blissfully unaware of during my once or twice a year visits.
Stay safe.
Yes, I am not glad that some wanted to fight them. But at the same time, the BLM protest lead to fires and looting the night before in Santa Ana and then the next day in Long Beach. I know the normal BLM protestors are not going to burn stuff down but for sure there is a group in the Orange Country area that was willing to. So those angry white guys might have saved Main St from being looted and burned to the ground. I would rather it could all be peaceful but hard to no feel on edge when the cites around you are on fire.
