RE: 50/50 Music Burn: My Top 5 Christmas Songs

After 3.5 hours of non-stop Christmas Hits (thanks to Heart Christmas Radio), I am now ready to share my Top 5. Some notable mentions that were in my Top 5 that got displaced with a latter update - Elton John (Step Into Christmas (1973)), Slade (Merry Christmas Everybody ( also 1973)), Wham! (Last Christmas (1984)).

So here they are (in no particular order):

Perry Como - It's Beginning to Look a Lot Like Christmas (1951)

A classic with one line in particular resonating with me...

And Mom and Dad can hardly wait for school to start again

Jackson 5 - Santa Claus Is Coming to Town (1970)

Originally recorded in 1934, it's another classic. The Jackson 5 version release in 1970 is perhaps the best known and my favourite.

Sleigh Ride - Sleigh Ride (1963)

Just lots of jolly fun.

Shakin' Stevens - Merry Christmas Everyone (1985)

The most recently released on my list and another upbeat foot tapper.

Frank Sinatra - Let it Snow (1950)

I love a bit of Big Band. Michael Buble has dominated Big Band at Christmas for many years but as good as he is - the originals are always the best.

That's my Top 5.

Great list! I'm a huge fan of the Jackson 5 and Sinatra...just about anything from either is good for me.

Narrowing it down to 5 was really tough. I'd hear a song and think "that's definitely in" and then 5 songs later, I'd need to drop one and that'd be it. @the-mrs-gorilla did it too but couldn't do it and ended up with a Top 10.
