The Diary Game - November 17, 2025 - Together for a Healthy Future: Measles-Rubella Campaign

Cover
Assalamu Alaikum, I hope everyone is well and enjoying their lives. As you know, there is a measles campaign going on in Pakistan in which children from six months to five years are being vaccinated against measles. So, I request all of you to vaccinate your children because there was a flood in the past few days, due to which there are many chances and cases of measles complaints being reported. Therefore, this is a good step taken by the Government of Pakistan in which they are vaccinating children from six months to five years of age. So, if you see a measles team at your home or anywhere, go there and vaccinate your child and keep them safe.
I myself am working as a team assistant. We have set up a camp in our own hospital in which we are vaccinating children. First of all,, I reached the hospital. After going there, we put up a banner in our room and in the courtyard outside the hospital, on which all the details about this campaign are written. People come to us looking at this board, looking at this banner, and we vaccinate them.

After putting up the banner there, we got the vaccine from our supervisor. Our skilled person has to get the vaccine because everyone has their own duty. The skilled person has to keep the stock of the vaccine and inject the children. The team assistant has to handle all the documentation. Similarly, there is a social mobilizer who has to go door to door and tell them that the measles vaccine is being administered in the hospital. You should get your children vaccinated.
We collected the vaccine from our supervisor and took a vaccine Carrie, and placed four ice packs around it. We placed the vaccine between these ice packs so that it does not spoil. Similarly, we also kept the diluents with us because they also have to be kept for 24 hours before you have to administer them. So we completed our vaccine stock.

My job is to handle the documentation, so I had the authority over all the documents we had, so I took all these documents and filled them out because on top of that we have to get the names of all our people, our team number, and also the signatures of our supervisor and skilled person, etc., so I prepared the documentation so that whenever someone saves it, it can be filled in here. There are two to three types of sheets that I have to fill out.
After filling out the sheet, I also completed all the rest of my equipment, including our cap, our uniform, the syringe for injection, and some pamphlets that we have to give to parents for promotion. I have completed the stock of all these things, including the finger marker, through which any other team number can identify whether this child has been vaccinated or not, because we will mark it on the finger.

Tally Sheet
After completing the stock of all the things, our vaccination time started. As soon as the children started coming, we prepared a vial. This one vial contains the ddose for10 children, so 10 children are injected from one vial. So we started bringing the children in turn and started vaccinating them.

There is an easy way to administer the vaccine. We now sit the parents down and place the child on their lap. If the child is older, we make them stand next to us and hold their hands so that the child does not move and the injection does not go wrong. Through this method, we give the child this vaccine and later mark the little finger on his left hand and record his details on our documents.
A supervisor has been appointed to monitor all the teams, and above all these supervisors, there are other very large t, eams like the teams at the UC level have a, had and, then there is a head at the district level. In this way, all the officers go to different councils and check the work and look at the documentation and the vaccine stock to see that everyone is doing the best job. Similarly, the DDHO came to us and congratulated us because our work was going very well. We had vaccinated manychildrenr,n and our stock was also ccompleteomplete and we had organized everything very well.

We had filled all our details on our sheets, which have a hat on them, where we mark how many male children we have and how many female children we have, and the second sheet is the one where a social mobilizer goes to the house, gets a slip made from the re and gives it to the parents. When the parents come to us, we have to fill in those details. In this way, they checked all these sheets and got our signatures.
Meanwhile, all our staff members make tea together and enjoy it in the afternoon. Some people start eating food, and some start drinking tea. Since my house is nearby, I go home and eat foo,d and we all go to people to drink tea. We usually order something light with this tea for the best taste.

Our duty time is from 8 am to 4 pm. As soon as 4 pm came, we repacked all our belongings and prepared the report. After preparing all the reports, we wrote wrthethat report to our supervisor. With the report, we packed all our things and put them in a drawer so that in the morning we can pick them up again and start our work from there.

Final Report To Supervisor
Thus, we launched the MR campaign, which is called the Measles Rubella Campaign, and completed its first day and vaccinated many children, and achieved our target. And at the end, I would like to say one thing ag,n that to secure the future of your children, you should not vaccinate children between the ages of six months and five years.
Thank You!
