"The Happy Prince"
Once upon a time, in a small town, there lived a statue of a prince who was covered in gold and precious stones. The statue was placed on a tall column in the town square, and it was considered the most beautiful statue in the land. People from far and wide came to admire its beauty, and the town was proud to have it.
However, the prince was not happy. Although he was covered in gold and jewels, he could not feel anything. He longed to be able to move, to feel the sun on his skin, and to help those in need. One night, as a swallow was passing by, the prince called out to him.
The swallow was intrigued by the prince's request and agreed to help. The prince asked the swallow to pluck out one of his sapphires and give it to a poor family in need. The swallow agreed and did as the prince asked. Over the next few days, the swallow traveled from one poor family to the next, giving away the prince's jewels to those in need.
As the prince's jewels were given away, his beauty began to fade, and he became less shiny and glamorous. But the prince was happier than ever before, as he was finally able to help those in need. The swallow, who had become a close friend of the prince, suggested that they go to the richest man in the town to ask for his help.
The swallow and the prince flew to the mansion of the richest man in the town, and the prince asked him for his help. The rich man, who was selfish and greedy, refused to help the poor, and the prince realized that he had been foolish to believe that the rich man would help.
