Hello, everyone! How is everyone doing today? I hope you’re all in good spirits and staying optimistic. I wanted to share a glimpse of my Monday and some of the activities that keep me occupied at work. While it was a long day, it was also fulfilling, and I thought you might find my experiences interesting.

CARING FOR OUR PATIENTS
My Mondays start off with a sense of tranquility. Before jumping into work, my colleagues and I come together for a morning devotion. This time is invaluable, as it helps us center ourselves and mentally prepare for the busy day ahead. It establishes a positive atmosphere and encourages us to approach our responsibilities with intent and mindfulness. Once the devotion concludes, we shift to one of our first tasks: the patient review. We convene in the office to examine a list of patients in the ward, ensuring we’re knowledgeable about who is currently in our care and who might soon be discharged. This review provides us with a comprehensive understanding of our patients' needs at the beginning of the week, ensuring nobody is missed.

After the review, we set out to begin our rounds, which is always a highlight of my Monday. This week, I partnered with the nephrology team, and it’s always a rewarding experience collaborating with them. The presence of students who accompanied us made it even more special. Their eagerness to learn and ask questions added a layer of interest to our rounds. As we moved from patient to patient, doctors were engaged in documentation while dietitians like myself provided our insights. Our responsibility during these rounds is to ensure patients receive adequate nutritional support, so we work closely with the healthcare team to cover all aspects of patient care.

Monday rounds tend to extend longer than typical since we review patients who may have been admitted over the weekend. It’s crucial to ensure that everyone receives appropriate treatment and support, particularly for new admissions when we are still becoming acquainted with their medical histories. The students displayed genuine engagement, frequently posing tough questions. Their curiosity prolonged the rounds, but I enjoyed witnessing their active participation. It enriched the experience for everyone involved, from the students to the patients.

After rounds, I felt quite fatigued, but there was still more to accomplish. We returned to the office, and I seized the chance to take a necessary lunch break. It was the ideal moment to recharge and take a breather before returning to work. Following lunch, I caught up with colleagues, and we took a few photos together to commemorate the enjoyable moments amid our busy day. These little interactions contribute significantly to keeping team morale high.
Next, I faced my inbox, dedicating some time to reply to emails and address anything I missed over the weekend. Before I realized it, the clock had advanced towards 4 p.m., signaling that it was time to go home.

Once I was home, I freshened up and took some time to relax. It had been a lengthy day, but a rewarding one. I always value the collaboration and teamwork that occur on days like this, reminding me why I love my work. Now, I'm prepared to unwind and recharge before diving back into another busy day tomorrow.
