One Picture One Story Week #98

When there's a cluster of dense trees and a place to sit in the middle, then it's a different joy, isn't it?

As I walked, I spotted an open space with an old wooden bench in the middle, and my steps stopped automatically.

When I saw this spot sitting in the middle of dense trees and this wooden bench, that moment became the most beautiful experience of peace and tranquility, and I felt lost in the lap of nature.

For a traveler and nature lover like me, a place like this is no less than paradise.

When I sat on this wooden bench in the middle of the ground, I felt as if nature itself had sucked all the fatigue of a weary traveler and time had stopped.

I felt a poem was in the process of taking shape as sunlight filtered through the leaves of dense trees and the rustling of leaves in the wind was like a sweet melody.

Yes, I felt my mind calm down as if someone shook off all dusty thoughts and brightened my soul again.

Look at these trees as if they were my friends extending their hands in welcome and saying, "Where were you all this while?"

The air smelled of a mixture of sea and leaves. I smiled and sat down. The sunlight filtering in from above cast a golden shadow over my lap.

Silence reigned; what I heard was only the sound of the wind and the distant call of a bird. At that moment, it felt as if time had stopped.

The scenery was so beautiful. The shadows of the trees lay on the ground, as if someone had covered it with a blanket of greenery.

I took a deep breath as I sat on the bench. "How peaceful it is here," I said to myself.

I felt as if the wind replied, "Peace was always here, but you were always in too much of a hurry."

I smiled. The rustling of the leaves now sounded like music. The light on the path leading away was changing every moment. The scene changed rapidly—sometimes sunshine, sometimes shade.

Somewhere in that, my mood also changed, a little lighter, a little calmer. I was just sitting on the bench when a gentle breeze blew.

I felt someone playing with my hair and saying, "You have taken too long. Do you want to run away again?"

I smiled lightly. "I've come to stay for a while."

And I thought to myself, yes, it's time to move now. Just one more week and then back to India.

The sun peeked through the leaves and left his golden touch on my face. "Then why don't you stay longer here?"

A nearby tree spoke softly, "We've been standing here for years, feeling every changing season just like your mind."

At that moment, I felt nature calling me to stay a little longer, to listen, to want nothing more, where the sun sets and the silence deepens. But not anymore. It's time to leave forever.

Now, with the colors of evening and the silence deepening, the sun slowly began to set behind the trees. The light had turned from golden to coppery. The air had cooled, and a soft silence had fallen over it.

As the sun departed, it said, "My turn is over now. Night will soon come, but it too will give you its answer."

The tree shook its branches, as if blessing you in farewell. The sky dissolved into shades of pink and blue, and a divine stillness descended upon the entire scene.

I thought, "Sometimes life is like that. When we stop, exhausted, that's when the silence within us speaks the loudest. Time to go back friends."
