Hey dear Steemit members. @elsa-queen is here once again. I am back filled with positivity and a joyful heart. Today I feel deeply thankful and excited to share a simple yet special moment from my life.
This post is about comfort food made with love. I cooked a homemade Flat Bread. This is full of desi warmth. Cooking is my therapy. Sharing it with you makes it more meaningful. My sincere thanks to my maโam @suboohi for this beautiful challenge. I cherish to be part of this loving community. May this post add a little warmth and happiness to your day besties.๐
What type of bread do you make at your home. Have you tried flat bread before? |
|---|
Yes I make the same bread. It is routine of our daily life. I prepare fresh hot bread. I prepare with my own hands. This is also our home tradition.
Making flatbread is not just a chore for me but a beautiful experience. I have quite a good experience in cooking this, as I make it daily regularly. Every step from kneading the dough to producing soft round bread gives me peace.
When the roti comes out fresh. Its aroma and taste is heart warming. I confidently say that making this kind of roti is now become a very easy and enjoyable task for me.
Make any flat bread (roti/paratha/tortilla)that you like with a detailed step-by-step procedure along with images. |
|---|
So, let's start making delicious pratha.
The Ingredients Required For This Recipe Are Listed Below ! |
|---|
| Ingredients |
|---|
| Wheat ๐พ Flour |
| Salt As Taste |
| Ghee One Spoon |
| Water ๐ฆ As Needed |
Step 1 !
First I added flour into a big steel bowl. Then I add salt and ghee. I mix it well. After that I slowly add water. I start kneading the dough.
Step 2 !
After that I again add the required amount of water to the flour. I started kneading it properly. I brought the dough together. I kneaded it thoroughly for a good time. Now the dough is smooth and ready. The process is simple. But it does not mean we should rush or skip any steps.
Step 3 !
After that I start making roti from the dough. I took a small piece of dough. I gave it a slightly long shape using my hands. When the shape was ready. I spread some ghee on top of it.
Step 4 !
After that I put the same flour on it from which I made the dough. The one that was kneaded. Then I added a little more ghee. This way I created layers one layer of flour, then ghee, then flour again and then ghee. After making these layers. I folded the dough.
Step 5 !
Then I used my hands to roll it. First making it round. Then a bit long. After that I shaped it into a peda by coiling it like a snake. Just like how a snake curls into a round shape.
After that I lightly coated it with dry flour. I gently pressed it with my hands. I gradually made it bigger. Then I placed it on the surface. I started rolling it. This way I made a perfect roti.
Step 6 !
I had already heated the tawa on medium flame. Because if we put roti on a cold tawa it sticks. So I first made sure the tawa was hot. Then I placed the roti on it. I cooked it for a few seconds. After that I spread ghee on top of it. I flipp it to ensure it cook well on both sides.
Then I turned it over. The one side became nicely golden. I cooked the other side as well until it was done. In this way the roti was ready. It is a ghee roti. We also call it a snake style paratha.
I enjoyed it with a cup of teaโ.
Simple Fresh Roti ! |
|---|
Step 1 !
To make plain roti. I first made a simple round dough ball without adding any ghee. Then I shape it with my hands. I made it a little bigger. After that I rolled it out using a rolling pin.
Step 2 !
After shaping the round roti. I placed it on the tawa. I cooked it for some time. Then I flipped it. The other side started turning golden brown. I cooked it well on both sides. After it was fully done. It looked very nice. This is how my simple plain roti was ready.
