SEC-S17W2 | What if you were the president of your country
As one of the largest democracies in the world, if I become president, I will be elected directly by the people through general elections. The 3 priority programs that I will run are:
- Create jobs
- Free education
- Independent management of the Oil and Gas sector
As an archipelagic country with a fairly large population, the availability of adequate employment opportunities is the main factor that I will address. Investors play an important role in creating jobs by building various industries in the agricultural and plantation sectors.
As an agricultural country, Indonesia is a very fertile country, but the government has not been able to optimize its existing potential so that it can absorb labour in all provinces in Indonesia.
Natural wealth in the form of oil and natural gas is abundant in Indonesia, but because it is managed by third parties who are foreign companies, there is very little local labour. As president, I need to make policy changes by managing natural resources independently and utilizing relevant graduates who work in oil and gas companies in the Middle East and Europe.
This is a solution to create new jobs when the government implements this policy to improve the welfare of Indonesian society.
Currently, Indonesia generally has free education programs, but only for secondary school education, while undergraduate education can only be pursued if you have sufficient income.
The mandatory undergraduate program is an important indicator for creating reliable human resources as an effort for the country's progress. All people are given unlimited scholarships to choose the campus they want, without going through scholarship acceptance selection.
Health is a program that has been implemented on an ongoing basis. As president, I only changed the pattern of health services without distinguishing between service quality. This means that every citizen can independently choose the desired health service facility for free.
To realize all these programs is not easy, it requires integrity and political lobbying with the People's Representative Council, as the president should ask for approval from the DPR for the programs being implemented.
When this political lobbying is able to be carried out, and the majority of parliament is controlled by the opposition party, I am sure that everything will be able to be carried out even though there are many political interests that will be faced.
Apart from that, public awareness of the importance of education as the most important part of realizing national independence is the hardest work. Changing behaviour is not easy, but when making it a mandatory program that is legalized in state law, the entire community will slowly realize the importance of education for themselves and their children.
Currently, many regions are in turmoil and demanding independence, when I have the highest authority, I will create a new history for the nation. Giving them self-determination through a Referendum.
Forming states within certain boundaries has never happened in Indonesian history, and giving them the right to choose their fate, will encourage the resolution of the long-standing conflicts that have occurred in the provinces of Papua and Aceh Province.
This is not easy, but with parliamentary support, I am sure we will be able to create an independent and prosperous society.

If you create jobs in your country, many unemployed people will get employment. Because they are unemployed despite their qualifications, they have a lot of responsibilities but they do not get jobs due to which they are left behind. And they can't achieve it even by keeping their progress in front. You will take a very good step for them and at the same time when we give free education then everyone will come to school colleges university with the love of study. It is good to know your thoughts about your country as you said that if you were the president of your country you would take many measures that would improve the country like agriculture is such a system. which can change the conditions of the country, if we focus on agriculture, the conditions of our country will automatically change, crops will be more and we will go towards development.
