PRAYER WORKS

Prayer is said to be a sincere communication to the one who saved and made us. It is a way of talking to Him, saying good and bad things, asking guidance and seeking forgiveness. Through prayer, we will be able to strengthen our faith and we oftentimes find comfort in times of trials and gain peace of mind. It is not just about asking for blessings but it is a good outlet to listen to His call, reflect to all the things we did and build deeper relationship.

Last week of December 2025, our church celebrated its 36th Church Anniversary. We celebrated it for 3 nights. We celebrated it through a mini-concert and fellowship with other brethrens from other branches. The last night of the said event, the ladies department (group of married women) prepared a pantomime about The 10 Virgins from the bible story. And I was one of the wise virgins in the story we prepared. We felt pressured in presenting the skit, our task is not to impress the congregation but to let them know its values.

To ease the nervousness we felt, we offer a prayer so God will bless us and we will be able to deliver it successfully. Before stepping on the pulpit, we offer a prayer. Through the prayers we offered, we may be able to center our thoughts, focus our purpose, and surrender ourselves.

The story we portrayed is about The Ten Virgins, 5 of which were wise and the other 5 were foolish. The story teaches us to be prepare, has wisdom, be faithful, be vigilant at all times, be accountable and a lot more.
