How many hours do you use your mobile, and which application is used the most?

use my mobile phone for about 5 hours a day. The applications I use the most are WhatsApp and Steemit. WhatsApp helps me stay connected with my family and friends, share important information, and communicate about daily matters. I regularly use it for messaging, voice calls, and keeping in touch with relatives.
I also spend a significant amount of time on Steemit, where I write posts, participate in contests, share my daily activities, and interact with other users. Steemit is not only a social platform for me but also a place where I can improve my writing skills, express my creativity, and complete my online work.

My son also uses my mobile phone and spends about 5–6 hours a day on Instagram. He enjoys watching reels, videos, and other entertaining content. While Instagram can be enjoyable, spending too much time on it can reduce the time available for studies, outdoor games, reading, and family activities. Therefore, I try to encourage him to balance his screen time with other productive and healthy activities.
Overall, mobile phones are very useful when used wisely. They help us communicate, learn new things, and complete important tasks. However, it is important to manage screen time properly so that it does not affect our health, studies, daily routine, or family life. A balanced use of mobile phones can provide many benefits while helping us avoid the negative effects of excessive screen time.

What are the reasons why you use your mobile phone so much?

I use my mobile phone quite often because it plays an important role in my daily life. The two applications I use the most are WhatsApp and Steemit. WhatsApp helps me stay connected with my family, friends, and relatives. I use it to send messages, make voice calls, share photos, and discuss daily matters. It is a quick and convenient way to communicate with people, so I use it several times throughout the day.
I also spend a significant amount of time on Steemit, which is one of the main reasons for my mobile phone usage. On Steemit, I write posts, participate in contests, share my experiences, and interact with other community members. Writing articles, editing content, responding to comments, and engaging with the platform require time and attention. Through Steemit, I can improve my writing skills, learn new things, and express my creativity.
In addition, I often use my mobile phone to read information, take photos for my posts, and manage my online activities. Therefore, most of my mobile phone usage is related to communication and productive work rather than just entertainment. My mobile phone has become a useful tool that helps me stay connected, complete my online tasks, and participate actively in the Steemit community.

Share three physical activities that take you away from screen time.

Three physical activities that take me away from
screen time are

Cleaning, washing clothes, and working in the kitchen keep me active and away from screens.I keep my phone in another room because I will keep checking notifications when I have it nearby, so I turn my focus to the house core.

Went to park

Every evening, I go to the park and walk there. This is a very good positive routine for me, which helps me stay away from screens to a large extent. It also refreshes my mind.
Spending time for my children

Teaching them, playing with them, and helping them with their activities allows me to focus on family instead of my phone.

What benefits did you see when you reduced your screen time?

When I reduced my screen time, I noticed several important benefits:
Firstly, my physical health improved. My eye pain reduced a lot, and I no longer feel constant strain in my eyes. My neck and shoulder pain also became better because I stopped using my phone for long hours in one position.
Secondly, my mental health became better. I felt less stressed and more relaxed because I was not constantly scrolling or watching videos for hours. My mind felt more calm and fresh.
Thirdly, my memory and focus improved. I was able to concentrate better on my Steemit work and daily tasks, and I started forgetting things less often because my brain was not overloaded with too much screen content.
Overall, reducing screen time made my life more balanced, healthy, and productive.

What advice would you give to others to avoid excessive screen time and reduce mobile phone use?

Set a daily time limit for mobile use and try to follow it regularly.
Use your phone only for important tasks like work, study, or communication.
Avoid unnecessary scrolling on social media.
Keep your phone away while studying or working to stay focused.
Take short breaks after every 30–60 minutes of screen use to rest your eyes and mind.
Replace mobile time with physical activities like walking, cleaning, or gardening.
Spend more time with family and real-life activities instead of being online all the time.
Avoid using your phone before bedtime to improve sleep quality.
Turn off unnecessary notifications to reduce distractions.
Small children (around 3–10 years old) should not use mobile phones excessively, especially without supervision, as it can affect their learning, eyesight, and physical activity.

It is good to see that you use your phone mainly for communication and productive work on Steemit.
