Love… Friendship… and a Little Fear Too

Some relationships are strange.
There is love in the heart, care, waiting, and deep feelings… but the word “friend” comes out instead. Maybe because not every love story is easy to name. Some people become so important that we fear losing them, so we hide love behind the mask of friendship.
“She loves me but calls me a friend…”
This is not just a sentence; it is half a story.
Maybe she likes you, cares about you, notices even the sound of your notifications… but she is afraid to express it. Because confessing love often changes relationships. And some people fear losing the bond more than hiding their feelings.
Nowadays people look for “results” more than emotions.
That’s why sometimes the heart wants to say everything, but the mind stops it. Then love gets renamed as “friendship” so the person stays close, even if the truth remains unspoken.
I think the hardest kind of love is when both people feel it, but both stay silent.
There is warmth in conversations, care, even a little jealousy… yet the relationship is still called “friendship.”
And this “calling with fear” is also a strange thing.
Sometimes people fear the other person’s reaction, sometimes society, sometimes timing… and sometimes they fear that if they tell the truth, everything may change.
But the truth is, some relationships do not need a title.
They can be as deep as love even while being called friendship — sometimes even deeper.
“She calls me a friend…
but her care clearly feels like love.”
