Contest Alert: My View, Myself Week #37

Since I was a child for me August meant end of school holiday and time to prepare for school. In meantime there were still some free days till school and we tried to catch up on the last warm days, we were noticing that the days started to become shorter and as children we were playing outside less and less because it was dark and parents wanted us to go home earlier.
The other thing that always associates with August for me is harvest time, the fields that were growing wheat now were cut short and there were a big straw bales on field and as children we loved to play “hide and seek” running and hiding behind of them. We always helped our grandparents with some little work on fields and were tired at the end of the day. Because it was August, my grandma already collected all fruits like apples and pears as well as tomatoes, those ones were my favourite, I could eat just fruits and vegetables without eating at all.
Often when I was there with my siblings or even with the kids from our neighbours we were allowed to have overnight party in one of the barn. We used straw as our mattress and just brought our pillows and blankets. Understandably we were not sleeping immediately but had our torches and books and also loved to tell scary stories, it was a lot of laugh and noise and I am grateful for my grandparent being so patient with us, they never complained about us but on and off just carefully checked if we were fine.
The best thing was wake up in the morning and have breakfast together with friends and my grandparents outside. I now understand that they allowed it to us because that were last days of summer before school and it was like a present for us and the nice closure of summer time.
The September 24 is going to be busy for me, study will start up and it seems to be very busy schedule. So no holidays and only study.
