What do you understand by the word November?

 

November is immediately associated for me with end of the year, because as adults we know that it is time for Christmas and that means gathering with families, presents choosing and wrapping. Also to plan Christmas time to meet our parents, grandparents but also not to forget our friends.

For many people especially who worked on farms it was time for finishing harvesting and preparing everything for winter, like making sure that farms are ready for cold winter, there is enough food for animals on farms and that there are enough wood for fireplace for over winter.

 

Tell us a brief story of what you experienced in November

 

Once in November I had to go to my appointment to visit a clinic in the little town about 40 minutes away. It was November and it was late autumn, in the morning I decided to put on my rain coat and thought that it will be good enough as I did not hear that it is going to rain. So half-way through when I took a bus I was in my thought about the appointment and actually got off the bus too early when I was out I could not find right street. After asking people I was told that it is about 15 min by foot, so I decided to walk. Next moment it started to rain and initially slow but very quickly it became heavy and despite of my raincoat, that went wet on the suture lines and my clothes underneath were completely wet. I was frustrated and then did not care about that. Finally I arrived to clinic, when I took off my coat, the Nurse saw that my clothes was completely wet. She offered me a cup of hot tea and also to dry up my clothes on their heating. I had to stay for about an hour there and after my clothes were a bit more dry she gave me an umbrella from clinic. She was my rescuer in such rainy weather. Since then I always have my umbrella when I go for a long trip in Autumn.

 

Based on your numerous experience was November good or quite bad to you?

 

For me November was and is usually good month. There are some birthdays of my family members and we usually plan gathering. Often we come together, cook together and it is always nice to see many who I did not see during summer time as we are all somewhere on holiday.

 

What are your plans for December 2024?

 

December is always time when I recall my childhood time, because of Christmas and New Year. The first week it is time when in Europe we have Christmas markets in many of cities and also the street fest with reindeers that children really love and think that they come from North Pole.

When here we have December we start hearing my favourite music in radio “Last Christmas” by Wham and that for me means that Christmas is on its way. I love this song and I think I can listen it for the whole year. We set up Christmas tree, we use the artificial one I do not like the fact of tree getting dry and that we have to throw trees away just after couple of weeks.

The whole months is preparation for the holiday and I also love this month too.
