S4W1- "The Digital Connection & influence of devices in our lives

In a world that is ever changing and ever adapting to technology and it's advancement, we can say that life has been made somewhat easy due to the innovation of technological devices in our lives.
This post aims to peruse on this topic by by @aaliarubab on "The Digital Connection & influence of devices in our lives".

I on my own part I am a fan of technology, from the early days of my youth when I used to be fascinated with phones and video games. I love technology because it helps gets things done faster and more efficiently.

Digital connection like social media has helped eliminate the delays we faced back in the days of using email and postcards. I started with 2go back then, it was a social media platform which we used to communicate with our classmates when we were on holidays. Then later on I went on to open Facebook, Instagram, Snapchat, steemit etc.

Recently I have been having issues with my phone which affected my work here on steemit. I started saving my earnings and got myself a powerbank to use for my phone as we don't have steady power supply.
I also got headset to enjoy music and have some privacy.
I got an extension so I could charge everything at once and finally I got myself a new phone, a Redmi 13C.

This shows how much I value technology and digital connection.

As I said earlier I started with 2go. This was a trending app 12 years ago in the life of young people. It was an app where you could chat anyone as long as you had their 2go username. Although I do not recall my username but I sure did have an account where I connected with friends.

Later on I opened a Facebook account in July 2013. This was better than 2go which was limited. With Facebook I could read others post, join groups, meet new people and share pictures about my daily activities.

At some point I thought Facebook had it all until I saw Instagram, then came WhatsApp and twitter now X.

All these platforms ensure that we get one thing, the ability to connect digitally with others without the barrier of distance.

I must say a lot has changed as the years went by. When I joined social media years ago it was just for commy, chatting and making new friends. But like everything man touches, corruption is bound to occur.
Down the line scammers have used these platforms to scam innocent users, promote scam sites and do many other evil vices.

Nowadays I am very careful who I meet online. Once they start bringing opportunities that are too good to be true I just blocked them and move on.
I like to think that those who get scammed are greedy because of not for greed you won't just jump into dealing with a virtual friend you do not really know.

There has also been positive impacts, I mean look at me here on steemit. I got to know about steemit through my girlfriend @vudeme123 whom I also met on Facebook 2 years ago.

I would say greatly because now I can learn anything I want off YouTube and social media.
I remember reading a post by a user here on how to prepare a certain dish which I said I must try out.
When I did it, the food was so delicious. I would not have been able to do that if not for technology.

I use steemit to express my opinion and thoughts on different topics.
I use my Facebook to post business ads that will attract potential customers while I use my WhatsApp to connect and share my life with close friends and acquaintances.
For music I used the boomplay app to listen to music and Netflix for movies.
