Reliance Smart Bazaar, Meerut
Reliance Smart Bazaar's fruits and vegetables section stands out as a key attraction in its stores, emphasizing fresh produce sourced directly from farms to ensure quality and affordability. These hypermarket, Delhi Road in a big Mall is a dedicate prominent vegetables and fruits shoppers.
The fruits and vegetables section typically occupies a dedicated corner or large display area near the store entrance, making it easily accessible for quick grabs.
Separate zones distinguish fruits from vegetables, with open bins, weighed packs, and loose items for customer choice. A live bakery and dairy counter often adjoin it, enhancing the fresh foods experience. I like its non-vegetarian sections is in a distinct place.
ⱽᵉᵍᵉᵗᵃᵇˡᵉˢ ᵃⁿᵈ ᶠʳᵘⁱᵗˢReliance Smart Bazaar allows customers to filter produce by organic or conventional options through dedicated labeling and sectioning in stores. Organic items carry specific certifications like India Organic or NPOP logos, while conventional produce remains unlabeled or marked as regular. This setup helps health-conscious shoppers like those in Meerut quickly identify preferences during visits.
ⱽᵉᵍᵉᵗᵃᵇˡᵉˢ ᵃⁿᵈ ᶠʳᵘⁱᵗˢStores stock an extensive range, from staples like potatoes, onions, tomatoes, garlic, ginger, and cucumbers to seasonal options such as sweet corn, sugar baby watermelon, pears and exotic greens like spinach. Huge varieties in potatoes, carrots and onions dominate, with packs for convenience
Fruits include apples, grapes, carrots, spinach, and more, though vegetable diversity often exceeds fruits in volume.
Produce arrives fresh from farms, with staff ensuring regular restocking to maintain shelf life and replace expired items. Customers praise the farm-to-basket approach for vibrant, high-quality items. Emphasis on organic and wellness options aligns with health trends.
Organic Produce
Organic fruits and vegetables occupy a highlighted shelf or subsection within the main fresh area, often near the entrance. Common items include certified organic potatoes, onions, tomatoes, carrots, spinach, apples, and bananas, sourced from partnered farms.
Conventional Produce
The bulk of the section features conventional fruits and vegetables in open bins and packs, dominating space for affordability. Staples like loose potatoes, onions at ₹40-60/kg, tomatoes ₹60-80/kg, and seasonal fruits fill large displays without organic tags. These align with daily needs and current promotions.
We prefer buying from Reliance Smart Bazaar for its unbeatable value, wide product variety, and convenient experience for everyday needs. This store makes it a go-to for fresh produce with competitive pricing and promotions so the small amount we spend on petrol makes little difference.
Then savings and deals make a difference too as we save consistently with 5-10% below MRP on groceries, up to 15% off fruits and vegetables, and seasonal offers and of course bigger purchases yield greater discounts besides the fresh produce quality as the fruits and vegetables come direct from farms so guaranteed fresh.
Then organic options are not available at local vendors but here they clearly labeled for filtering, and daily restocking for vibrant quality. Varieties here exceed compared to local markets, but on lesser rates for example conventional tomatoes in open market sell at ₹80/kg and at this rate we can get certified organics, suiting our health-focused routines.
They have a proper filtering scan process above bins or packs for "Organic" stickers versus plain displays. One can ask staff who assist with queries on sourcing.
ᵂᵉ ᵈⁱᵈ ˢᵒᵐᵉ ˢʰᵒᵖᵖⁱⁿᵍ✓ How would you rate the variety and quality of the fruits and vegetables offered?
Reliance Smart Bazar offers decent variety in fruits and vegetables, including seasonal local produce and some imported options however, quality is the main sanitarian. We carefully inspect everything before buying so we face no complaints of spoiled or overripe items. Our main concern is the freshness compared to local vendors and we find it satisfactory.
✓ Is there any fruit or vegetable that you would have liked to find in this store?
Passion fruit is indeed what I miss here which in my view is a fantastic choice. I have suggested Reliance Smart Bazar to make this tangy-sweet tropical item which feels absent amid the standard apples and bananas.
ᴼᵘʳ ˢʰᵒᵖᵖⁱⁿᵍ ʷᵒʳᵗʰ ⁸⁵ ˢᵗᵉᵉᵐ✓ What was your overall experience at the store? Do you think any aspect needs improvement?
My overall experience at Reliance Smart Bazar is okay as I find it convenient for my budget and nice produce. I would say its variety scores 9/10 if I compare it with local vendors. Oh yes, at times we leave a few items if we see they lack freshness or overripe items and of course poor maintenance but that happens in rare cases. Their prices remain competitive and below MRP, appealing to value-seekers.
