Infort restaurant

Chatgaiya Khana is a well-known chain restaurant in Chittagong. The restaurant I am going to review today is located in the New Market area. Although there are three other branches of Chatgaiya Khana in Chittagong.

Main entrance

As soon as a customer enters the restaurant through the main gate, they will feel good. The interior of the restaurant is quite large but there was a very nicely decorated and organized atmosphere inside which made me very happy.

Chatgaiya Khana was inaugurated on August 22, 2025 at the New Market branch. Since its inauguration, the number of people visiting this restaurant has been increasing since it is already a reputed restaurant. Therefore, the reputation of this restaurant is easily spread all around. Since it is located at the intersection of New Market, anyone can come here using rickshaw, auto rickshaw, CNG, bus, without any hassle. The cost will be 30-50 taka or (3-5 steam).the restaurant is open 10.00 Am to 11.00 Pm.

Chatgaiya Khana mainly serves various traditional Bengali dishes of Chittagong. Traditional dishes of Chittagong include Beef Mejbani, Orash Biryani and other wedding dishes. Bengali food includes various types of Bharta. There are several delicious Bharta available including white rice, thin dal, potato Bharta, eggplant Bharta, fish Bharta, etc. I tried their restaurant's "Shutki Bharta" (Dry Fish) yesterday and I found it’s delicious.

I found the food prices to be relatively reasonable. Moreover, since they serve traditional food, they have tried to maintain the taste of the food quite well. .Beef Mejbani is a place of emotion for the people of Chittagong, and they have tried their best to keep that emotion intact.Which is definitely commendable.

The restaurant staff serves food with sincerity and there is a lot of update in terms of payment. Here, food bills can be paid in cash or if someone wants, they can pay for food bills through bKash.At the cash counter, you can pay through cash, BKash.

Juice corner

The fruits arranged in the juice corner looked fresh to me. But since the price was high, 1 glass of juice cost 150 taka (15 steem), I couldn't buy the juice and taste it.

Apart from the food of this restaurant, I liked another thing. That is, there is a juice corner inside this restaurant. Different types of fruits are beautifully arranged for making juice. Any customer can choose the fruit of their choice and order juice and the staff on duty makes it according to their demand.

There is a car parking area next to the entrance to the restaurant. Here, customers can park their cars and enter the restaurant and enjoy their food.

There is a special zone inside the restaurant for customers to charge their phones. It is made in the shape of a palanquin, a traditional vehicle in Bangladesh (in the past, when there were no vehicles, this palanquin was used to carry new brides home). Anyone can charge their phones here if they want.

This restaurant has various features. The restaurant is quite large in size. Where one can enjoy their food with their family if they want. There is a dining space for everyone to sit and chat together, as well as sofas so everyone can sit and chat together.

The restaurant's atmosphere seemed a bit noisy to me. Because the restaurant was always crowded with customers, it was noisy. The interior design of Chatgaiya Khana mainly focuses on the various traditions of Chittagong. There are several paintings in the style of the Mughal period. Seeing which, any person's interest in food will increase.

Chicken biryani

Every country has its own variety of food. The gastronomy of our country that represents our country is Biryani. Biryani is a dish that contains different types of spices, due to which the Biryani dish becomes full of taste and aroma. Biryani is cooked with different types of meat (beef, mutton, chicken). It is a favorite dish for people of all ages. Although it is more popular with the young generation today. There are several methods of cooking Biryani in our country.

✓ If you had to recommend a dish from this restaurant, what would it be and why?

Several dishes of this restaurant are quite popular. However, I think their Bengali food items like Shutki Bhorta, Taki Fish Bhorta, and Brinjal are especially special. I would recommend anyone to try these two dishes. Again, the traditional food of Chittagong, Orosh Biryani, Beef Mejbani is a popular food item in this restaurant. Yesterday I tried the Beef Mejbani of this restaurant for the first time and I found its taste amazing. From December 8th, they are going to launch Mutton Mejbani in their menu list.

✓ Name a popular dish from anothephontry that you have tried or would like to try?

If I ever get a chance, I would try a traditional Pakistani dish called "Peshwari Beef". I think this beef made with minimal spices will be very tasty to eat. I have never tried this dish. I have only seen its cooking videos on various YouTube channels.
