Today’s feature is a hearty and flavorful Chicken and Lentil Curry — a comforting dish made by simmering tender chicken with earthy lentils, aromatic spices, tomatoes, and herbs until rich, creamy, and deeply satisfying. It’s wholesome, protein-packed, and perfect for lunch or dinner, especially when you’re craving something warm, nourishing, and full of traditional goodness.
Ingredients

| Chicken | 1 pound (approx. 450g) |
| Split Moong Lentils | ½ pound (approx. 225g) |
| Masoor Dal (Red Lentils) | ½ cup |
| Onions | 2 medium |
| Ginger-Garlic Paste | 2 teaspoons |
| Tomatoes | 2 medium |
| Salt | To taste |
| Turmeric Powder | ½ teaspoon |
| Coriander Powder | 1 teaspoon |
| Red Chili Powder | 1–2 teaspoons (to taste) |
| Oil | 4–5 tablespoons |
| Ground Garam Masala | ½ teaspoon |
| Green Chilies | 2–3 |
| Fresh Coriander | A handful (for garnish) |
| Ghee | 1 tablespoon (optional) |
Cooking Method
Step 1: Prepare the Chicken

- Heat oil in a pot.
- Add chopped onions and sauté until light golden.
- Add ginger-garlic paste and fry for a minute.
- Add chicken and cook until its color changes.
- Add tomatoes and spices, then cook on low heat until the chicken becomes tender.
Step 2: Cook the Lentils

- In another pot, add water.
- Add all lentils along with salt, turmeric, and ghee.
- Cook until the lentils become completely soft.
Step 3: Combine Chicken and Lentils

- Fry the cooked chicken until the oil separates.
- Add the cooked lentils to the chicken and cook until well combined.
Step 4: Garnish and Serve

- Add green chilies and fresh coriander.
- Fry the remaining onion and add it on top as garnish.
