Good day friends,

Welcome to the new week of the engagement challenge. This time again we have another interesting topic to share our ideas. Since our childhood we had our own interests in reading. As a habit, I loved reading translation stories. I will share about my favorite children's story and why I love it.

What is your favorite children's story, and why? - Have children's stories taught you anything, marked you or influenced you in your life?

My favorite children's storybook is "Village by the sea". It is an Indian children's story that was used for Appreciation in English Literature in our school curriculums. This story speaks about a small village near the sea in India. It expresses the negative effects caused to the village with the industrial revolution and how the people in the village suffered a lot due to the poor economic conditions in the family.

The main character is a boy called Haari. The whole story has been surrounded the main character. This is a young boy who is in a very poor family. In the story he is the one who first sees that the machines come and start building big contructions. Then he gradually experiences the pollution of water and air.

The boy Haari is the motivational character in the story. He as a child goes to work in different places as he needs money to feed the family and educate the siblings. The story explains the amount of hard work he did to become a wealthy boy. Finally, he could become a rich man in the village due to his hard work.

This story influenced me a lot.For the amount of hard work I do at present I feel that I'm Haari in the story. I read this book 13 years ago and still I remember it.

How many children's stories do you remember reading? make a list, enumerate them.

When I was small I started reading story books and I could read like one book a day. until now I may have read more that 100 children's storybooks. From the SriLankan Authors I have read the stories of Sibil Weththasinghe, Martin Wickramasinghe and as a foriegn author i have read translations of Enid Blyton.

There is a saying that "A handful of books make a complete man ". Just like that I think reading makes us improve imaginations rather than addicting to screen. There are motivational stories like Kuda hora, kalu maama, famous five, Janne Eyre etc...

If you have children or younger siblings, have you told them a children's story, which one and why?

I have my siblings and When I was small not even for siblings , I tell stories that I read to all of them. Especially, I gave my favorite story book "Village by the sea" to many of my friends after they heard the story they also wanted to read it.

Specially, when I get a book i read it snd then if it is interesting I give it to my mom to read because she is also a book lover. Then I share the story with my sister. If she likes it she also gives it to her friends to read. That is how I have widely speaded the practice of reading.

Have you created a children's story? Tell us about it.

Until now I have never created a story but I think I will write one soon this year and hope to share it with you forst of all.

Saludos @nadeesew.

Thank you for the review friend.

I had not heard of that story, it seems like a great story from what you tell us. I'm going to see if I can get a digital version even if it's in English, I like that kind of motivating stories. Good luck in the contest.

Thank you for sharing your ideas with me dear. It is a must to read actually.

No había escuchado nunca de este libro, Pueblo junto al mar, me parece interesante por lo que ha contado, voy a buscarlo para leerlo, gracias por compartirlo

Thank you friend.

It's a very nice story you shared village by the sea. Becoming haari is important for all, in their lives. And it's difficult too , but not impossible surely.
Good share..!
