Are there homeless people in your country?

I am a citizen of Bangladesh and Bangladesh is a developing country. Bangladesh is the eighth largest country in the world in terms of population. From the recent United Nations data, I have come to know that about 1 million and 80 thousand people are homeless in our country. But I don't know the exact number. There have been many homeless people in Bangladesh for a long time. As far as I know two types of people are homeless in my country. There is a class of people who are homeless due to their mental disability and forgetfulness of their identity. They have families and homes but they live on the streets as homeless because they have forgotten their address and identity. They are mentally unstable. There is another category of homeless people in our country who have no land of their own to live in so they are homeless. They live on streets, railway stations, sidewalks, sometimes they are seen living near dustbins. In answer to this question I would say, yes, homeless people are seen in our country, they are living their lives with great difficulty.

What do you think is the cause that leads these people to be on the street, homeless and without a family?

There are some causes which lead people to be on the street. Below I present some of these to you.

Poverty:

One of the reasons why people are homeless in our country is poverty. Bangladesh is a developing country as I told you earlier. Poverty rate is decreasing in our country with time but still some people are living such homeless life due to their economic condition. They can't afford a household despite their desire. As a result, they live on streets, sidewalks, railway stations. When our country becomes a 100% poverty free country then not a single person will live a homeless life.

Lack of employment

The more employment a country has, the more prosperous its people will be economically and because of this prosperity they will not have to be homeless. Among the five basic human needs, housing is the third need which is very important for every human being. When a man becomes financially prosperous the first thing he does is to arrange a secure residence for himself. The fact that there are still homeless people in our country means that if there were not enough employment opportunities in our country, the number of people might not exist or if there were, it would be much less.

Has the government tried to try or create decent shelters to help these people?

I am happy to answer this question because I live in a country where the government thinks about every people in its country, tries to alleviate their suffering. So far our government has taken various steps for homeless people. Among which I will present to you some of the main steps.

  • The main step taken and implemented by the Bangladesh government for the homeless is to provide housing to the homeless at absolutely no cost. The government of Bangladesh has previously built a house in a certain place and named them as 'Guchchgram' and allotted one brick house to those who were homeless. A family can live in this house. Apart from the house, clean water is provided for them and a toilet is also provided. I am presenting with you some pictures of those government houses taken from the YouTube video.

  • One of the main steps taken by the Bangladesh government is the expansion of employment for the purpose of poverty alleviation. In order to implement this, the Bangladesh government has made those people who were financially poor self-reliant by providing hands-on training.

What could you propose so that these people do not remain in this dark world?

My advice to homeless people to get out of this dark world is to work hard and be self-reliant. I think everyone can arrange a home for themselves if they are independent. Also, the government of our country shows a lot of sympathy towards the homeless people and many initiatives are taken by the government and private sector to establish the basic rights they need. So my first and foremost advice to them is to become self-reliant so as not to end up homeless. If we work with enough time in all the jobs that have been provided by the government and private sector, I think there will be a bright future and a developed country for all. To establish oneself by working for the country and to establish the country as a developed country in the world.

You have said it all. Poverty is always one of the major causes of it and the truth is we can actually deal with it and even the government can also play a crucial role in it just that they are not playing it

Hello @pea07 hope you are having a good day really tough to read about the homeless situation in Bangladesh. Poverty is the main reason as many just can't afford a home.

But it's great that the government is stepping in to help by giving free housing and creating job opportunities.

My advice to homeless folks would be to work hard, be independent, and take advantage of the help available from the government and private sector to improve their lives.,thanks for sharing wish you success 💖🤗🌸💐.

Greetings my dear @pea07

Yes, dear, it is rightly said that such people do not suffer from any one problem, just like they do not have a home, they also suffer from many problems, like they do not have good education. There is food and no clothes to wear, ate from where food is available and slept where the night fell, when the next day comes, where the night has passed, the next day begins, then go out again in search of your food. If they go, then their whole life is spent in poverty. The government should take some measures for such people, which will improve their life and make them happy.
@mona01

Thank God the government has implemented measures such as providing free housing through projects like 'Guchchgram' and offering training for economic empowerment.

Destitution is one of the basic clarifications behind vagrancy in Bangladesh. Numerous people in the country fight with low compensation, joblessness, and a shortfall of permission to sensible housing. This can make it hard for individuals and families to stay aware of stable ordinary conditions. Additionally, destructive occasions, for instance, twisters and floods can unstick people from their homes, provoking temporary or very solid vagrancy. Various elements like social issues, ailments, and nonattendance of permission to preparing and open entryways can in like manner add to the vagrancy issue in Bangladesh. Watching out for poverty through money related new development, preparing, and social assist with canning help with diminishing vagrancy in the country.
