Hello my esteemed friends and fellow steemians, trust you are doing great? My fellow pet lovers in this wonderful community, I am glad to relate with you all again after a while. I am here to share an amazing experience I have gathered while raising my bunnies.

Most times, bunnies are associated with carrots. Even in most cartons and even in real life. I often hear people associate carrots to bunnies. Do they really like it that much? Is too much of it good for their health? Let's learn.

Carrot is a root vegetable, usually orange in color, though purple, black, red, white, and yellow cultivars exist. They are a domesticated form of the wild carrot, Daucus carota, native to Europe and Southwestern Asia. The plant probably originated in Persia and was originally cultivated for its leaves and seeds. Do bunnies like carrots?

From my little experience with my bunnies, my own bunnies, Hazel and Lola really enjoys eating carrots. Infact, it is like a treat to them. Whenever I want to give them a treat, I buy them carrots. Prior to now, I was thinking that they should be eating carrots often especially considering the health benefits to humans and how they enjoy eating. But I have come to understand why they should not eat it often which we will soon learn why. But, Hazel and Lola do not joke with carrots. They drag it from my hand and go to their Conner. Often times, they drag it among themselves. It really gives me joy to see them enjoy it that much.

But come to think of it, carrots have great tastes. And their health benefits to humans are amazing, for instance, I have listed about 7 health benefits of carrots to humans which I got from this source

Boosts eye health

Are you or your child struggling with poor eyesight? Carrots to the rescue! Carrots have been regarded as the fool-proof traditional remedy to improve eyesight. According to the book Healing foods carrots are rich in lutein and lycopene which help maintain good eyesight and night vision. The high amount of vitamin A also helps boost a healthy eyesight.

Aids Weight Loss

If you are on a weight loss diet, your diet must include foods that are high on fibre, and carrots with both soluble and insoluble fibres perfectly fit the bill. Fibre takes the longest to digest and thus promotes a feeling of fullness and prevents you from bingeing on other fattening foods.

Ensures bowel regularity and helps in digestion

The significant amount of dietary fiber in carrots plays an important role in maintaining good digestive health. Fiber makes your stool bulky which helps it pass smoothly through the digestive tract and prevents conditions like constipation.

Fights cholesterol and boosts heart health

The high fibre quotient of carrots also boosts heart health removing excess LDL cholesterol from the walls of arteries and blood vessels. According to the book 'Healing Foods' by DK Publishing carrots "contains a form of calcium easily assimilated by the body that may help lower "unhealthy " (LDL) cholesterol levels."

Lowers Blood Pressure

Alongwith lowering the levels of bad cholesterol, carrots are packed with potassium. Potassium helps relax the tension in your blood vessels and arteries, which enhances the blood flow circulation and brings down your elevated BP. High blood pressure is linked to conditions like atherosclerosis, strokes, and heart attacks. So load up on carrots for a step towards a healthier heart.

Boosts skin health

The juicy red wonders can help give your skin a radiant glow too. Apart from the beta carotene, lutein and lycopene, the high silicon content of the root can promote healthy skin and nails. To amke the most of it's nutrition have them raw.

Boosts immunity

Carrots are packed with various vitamins, minerals and antioxidants such as vitamins B6 and K, potassium, phosphorous, etc. which contribute to bone health, stronger nervous system and help improve brain power. The antioxidants, apart from helping the body against free radical damage, guard the body against harmful bacteria, viruses and inflammation.

From the above benefits, to humans, carrots are awesome and we should always eat them in Quantum. It has no known side effects. But what about bunnies that are always associated with carrots. Is it good for their health?

Bunnies And Carrots

While the rabbit-carrot connection is squarely at the center of pop culture, carrots aren't the ideal food source for rabbits. A balanced rabbit diet consists of unlimited quantities of hay or grass, plus smaller amounts of veggies and leafy greens -- which could include the tops of carrots but not the carrots themselves

Carrots should never be a main source of food for a rabbit -- think of them the way you would a candy bar for yourself . Carrots and other root veggies, as well as fruit should be considered a treat for rabbits, and you should limit consumption to no more than one or two tablespoons per rabbit each day. Allowing a rabbit to have too many carrots could result in obesity, as carrots are largely empty calories for these creatures. Excess carrot consumption may even harm the rabbit, leading to stomach discomfort or digestive issues according to Indiana House Rabbit Society.

So even though my bunnies enjoy carrots a lot, I have reduced the quantity I give to them to one medium size carrots in 3 days. I wouldn't want anything that will endanger them at all. So I feed them more of leafy greens and vegetables.

Thank you all for reading through my entry. I app you all. I will keep updating us on the life of my bunnies.

Thanks love for visiting my post. Truly speaking, to humans, carrots have healthy values for us, but for bunnies, they don't need it much
