Rescue Diary - abandoned Vern finds a new home
Poor little abused Red Heeler Vern was found chained to a bamboo clump by some children in Louisiana and after recovering and receiving heartworm treatment he was off on his journey from Louisiana to his forever home in California.

The story of his discovery in the forest and subsequent rescue and adoption was covered in a local article which we were sent by the rescue coordinator.

Lucky Vern was sheltered by an area rescue and began his journey to recovery and gaining strength and health before he was adopted by a family in California
🚗 And thus began our part of his journey 🚗
Once again we would be driving for many hours (10 hours this trip) with our route stretching from Lupton at the New Mexico state line to just north of Phoenix.
Luckily Vern was a mellow fellow and a very chill passenger having already covered many miles from Louisiana to our location. He happily hopped into the back seat with me, laid down and settled in for the long drive.

The miles and hours passed by uneventfuly and Vern spent most of the time laying down next to me content to nap a bit and just be loved.

It was nighttime when we reached our meeting spot and handed over Vern to the person who would keep him overnight and then rake him to the airport for his flight to California the next day.
A day later and this wonderful little boy was in his new home in northern California ready for lots of love and attention.
I thought that I would share some of my stories of my involvement with transporting/helping out rescue animals (mostly dogs). This is something that I have been doing for the past 7 years or so.
No pay or professionals - just a bunch of great volunteers working together to help the less fortunate animals.
💖Happy stories that I hope you all enjoy💖
Here are some rescue organizations that I have worked with and support. Please help out these great people and seek out some of the many other rescue organizations - they always need our help.
