Rescue Diary - Rexha is reunited with her family
Poor big mama Rexha had to be left behind in Arizona recently when her family had to relocate to Colorado Springs and couldn't find housing that would allow her to stay with them.

So she was housed in a boarding kennel while awaiting some kind souls to get her back with her family - and this weekend was the time for her freedom ride up to her family's new home.
She's a Rottweiler/Cane Corso mix so despite her massive build she was actually the sweetest big girl.

She's 7 years old so her legs were a bit old but she was easy enough to help up into the back seats of my SUV where she could stretch out and relax on Lulu's plush doggy bed (poor Lulu stayed behind with my wife on this trip). Probably felt good after her brief stop in cold and snowy Flagstaff.

It was going to be a long leg for her as my part would be over to the AZ/NM state line at Lupton but the weather was mild, the interstate highway clear and Rwxha resting quietly in back.
Of course the miles unfortunately always seem to pass by all too quickly on these transports and we pulled into the Lupton rest stop right at noontime.
Rexha was happy to get out and stretch her legs and get a good drink after exploring the area and bit.

Soon enough her Albuquerque driver (who I have worked with several times in the past) arrived and it was time for her trip to Albuquerque and an overnight before continuing on the next day to her family in the Springs.
But of course a sweet rider needed some goodbye love (and a few tasty treats) before I bid her farewell.
I thought that I would share some of my stories of my involvement with transporting/helping out rescue animals (mostly dogs). This is something that I have been doing for the past 10 years or so.
No pay or professionals - just a bunch of great volunteers working together to help the less fortunate animals.
💖Happy stories that I hope you all enjoy💖
Here are some rescue organizations that I have worked with and support. Please help out these great people and seek out some of the many other rescue organizations - they always need our help.
