Your Apple Watch will respond to your hand gestures so that you can control its features without pressing any buttons or touching the display. You don't even need to use your opposite hand to operate your Apple Watch. You can do this by clenching your fists or pinching your fingers.

Apple Watch's Assistive Touch features allow for hands-free interactions. Because of the Apple Watch's versatility, it has been rated the best smartwatch every year. For example, if you know an address, then you can type it in.

However, if you don't want (or can't) use your voice or don't want (or need) to use your opposite hand to navigate, gestures can come in handy. Hand gestures are one of the most underrated features on the Apple Watch in my opinion, and while I may not use them every single day, they are great if you do.

The first step to using Apple Watch hand gestures is enabling the appropriate settings in the Accessibility menu of your iPhone's Watch app. Here's how to turn on Apple Watch hand gestures and how to use hand gestures on your Apple Watch.

Note that Apple Watch hand gestures only work with Apple Watch 4 and newer, including the Apple Watch 7 and Apple Watch SE. Let's see how to enable Apple Watch hand gestures.

1- On your iPhone, open the Watch app and click Accessibility.
2- Choose Assistive Touch from the Motor menu.
3- Tap the Assistive Touch toggle.
4- Click the Accessibility menu on the My Watch tab and select Accessibility.

You can review the navigation functions associated with each gesture from the same menu you used when you toggled on hand gestures. You can use the pinch, double pinch, clutch, and double-clutch gestures.
