Faulty Water Pump Driver replacement, Programming and current controls.

Today, I will tell you about the problem and its solution in a factory I went to before. There are erosion machines inside the big factories. There is a pool system inside these machines. Therefore, there are 3-4 different types of pumps to fill this pool.

The customer told us that this system is not working properly. Then, as a result of our phone conversations, we determined that the pump driver was defective. We informed the customer that it needed to be changed. The customer approved the price and after paying, we set out to repair the defect.

When we came to the company, we made the necessary tests. We firmly decided that the drive should be replaced. The pump model used is Grundfos. The driver model of this pump is Panasonic.

Each pump model has a different pump driver. It also has different parameter settings. That's why we brought the driver suitable for this pump with us.

There are 3 different cable groups on the drive. The first of these groups is the cable entries that power the drive. The other group is the inputs from the pump. The last blue small cable entries are the input ends of the motor where settings such as speed, speed, frequency related to the parameter are made.

Any cable that is removed should be noted. During the assembly, the assembly will be done in the same way. That's why I usually take separate pictures for each cable while doing this.

After all wiring is removed I install the new pump driver assemblies and wire them. Here is something you need to pay attention to. When the new pump driver is installed, the pump is not energized directly. Because if the pump is faulty, you may encounter problems such as breaking the driver again.

Therefore, the phase ends in the pump are removed. In this way, power is supplied to the drive. Then the parameters consisting of about 6 pages are checked and edited. Within these parameters, parameters such as engine speed, speed, operating frequency are set. No parameter device is required. You can make adjustments via the driver.

Pump connections are made as star or triangle. You do not need to change the pump connection when the driver is replaced. Phase measurements are made on the last pump. When the pump is started, the current it draws is controlled by an ammeter. If the current it draws is at a normal level, there will be no problem in the operation.
