Did you know months that start on a Sunday will always have a Friday the 13th
There's a mathematical reason behind why months that begin on a Sunday are guaranteed to have a Friday the 13th.
Here's how it works:
Every month has a specific number of days (31, 30, 28, etc.).
Each day of the week (Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, etc.) has a numerical position (1 for Sunday, 2 for Monday, and so on).
If the first day of a month (1st) falls on a Sunday (position 1), then adding the number of days in that month to the position value (1) will determine the weekday of the 13th.
Since there are only 7 days in a week, adding the number of days in a month (always a multiple of 7 or one less than a multiple of 7) to 1 (Sunday) will always result in a remainder of either 0 or 1 when divided by 7.
If the remainder is 0, the 13th falls on a Saturday.
If the remainder is 1, the 13th falls on a Friday!
Therefore, any month that starts on a Sunday (1st is Sunday) is mathematically destined to have a Friday the 13th.
