Did you know plastic bottles were first used for soft drinks in 1970
While plastic bottles were being developed earlier, plastic soft drink bottles actually became commercially available a little later than 1970. The year most sources credit for Coca-Cola introducing the first PET (polyethylene terephthalate) plastic bottle for carbonated drinks is 1978.
