Poema original: ¡Quién detiene el amor! (ESP/ENG)
Mucho es mi amor, por mis muchos amores
que en el jardín de mi alma
mirándolos con tierna calma
he preferido quitar sus flores.
Tan brillantes sus colores
mueren en su floración, en un día
tan triste como la muerte es la agonía
de un amor entre penas y temores.
Lamentable final de un amor, por ser engañoso
que pretendiendo dejarnos
cuanto más en su ofensa, más piadoso y
lo que logra con su queja
a un corazón celoso
que no se detiene, el amor que se aleja.

¡Who stops love!
Much is my love, for my many loves
that in the garden of my soul
looking at them with tender calm
I have preferred to remove their flowers.
So bright their colors
they die in their bloom, in one day
as sad as death is the agony
of a love amidst sorrows and fears.
Pitiful end of a love, for being deceitful
that pretending to leave us
the more in its offense, the more pious it is and
what it achieves with its complaint
to a jealous heart
that does not stop, the love that moves away.
