"SC-S32/W2-"Today's Writing, Tomorrow's Memories."—The Travel Diary.

I will be joining the challenge as I write about a diary of how my family and I traveled to our village, Umuekwerede, on December 28, 2025. On this day, we began by taking all our travel bags and belongings to the 245 AFI barracks gate. When we arrived, I took a photo at the battalion gate.

After we had done that, my mom and I then stopped a commercial vehicle and we all entered Ikom town at the peace machine transit we paid 6'000 naira from the barracks to the transit which is just 85 steem. When we got to the transit my mother told us to wait at a place at the transit for travelers while she went to purchase tickets to Aba, each ticket cost 12,500 naira and she bought three, making that a total of 37,500 naira and it is worth 530 steem. When she had bought the tickets she then moved into the market and got us food to eat.

A selfie with my family at the transit ready for the journey

After we finished eating the bus was almost ready to go as the workers at the transit were loading all the luggage by travels, I then took a selfie as we were waiting for the bus to finish loading as soon as there we done loading everyone got into the bus, and a pastor at the transit prayed for us to have a great journey. Then we started to move, we left the transit at 12:00 PM as the bus was moving I took a selfie in it.

All of us in disbelief because of the tire issue

Not more than 30 minutes after we had just left the transit we almost had an accident. But thanks to God we survived, it was the first time that I experienced how it feels to almost lose your life due to a car accident, it was actually the first for my family because we had never been in such a position. What happened was that the car tire got burst while we were on motion, and the car began to wave left and right I and some travelers in the bus were fast asleep we this began I woke up joining everyone as we called on the blood of Jesus to save us, and God helped us that there was no moving vehicle and the bus stop by the side of the road due to the pile of sand close to the road.

The flat tire

After that we all came out of the bus in shock 🫨 at what almost cost us our lives on a journey we had just begun, we were all thanking God for keeping us alive we all stayed there for up to 40 minutes till the driver changed the tire with the available spare. We then continued the journey till we got to Abia Tower where we stopped and got into another vehicle which we paid 10,000 naira to get to our hometown.

We took the car and we got to our village at 6:37 PM. We were welcomed by everyone at home, and we then took our bags in and had a good night's rest to be active for the next day. The total amount of money spent on this trip is 53,500. My trip for the day was awesome, saw a lot of beautiful places and above all I arrived safely all thanks to God.
