Anger can surely burn quick, but a calm spirit do bring peace and a better life. Let's begin....

Describe your techniques for controlling anger and emotions. What is your reaction in that moment when you get excessively angry?

Anger do comes quick at anywhere ,but I have learn how to hold myself. Anytime I'm angry too much, my first reaction is that my body will be very hot, my voice will want to rise, and I do want to talk anyhow no matter who it is. But I have train myself to pause. I will just keep quiet, breathe deep, and sometimes I work around small to cool my head.

However One day at office, my colleague accuse me wrongly during meeting. I angry very well, I was about shouting back. But I tell myself, “Calm down, don't let anger spoil your name.” I keep silent, and I did deep breathing excersice while holding my fist, then later I explain my side gently. The problem was clear, and people respect me more because I didn't lose control.

My techniques

  1. Keep Quiet First
When anger catches me, my first reaction is to keep silent. If I talk at that time , I can say wrong things. Silence wil give me small space to cool down.

  2. Deep Breathing
I do close my eyes breathe in and out slowly. This simple act do calm my body and reduce the hot temper.

  3. Shift My Mind
I will move away from the problem that makes me angry. Sometimes I work around or I'll focus on another task.

  4. Talk to Myself
I do tell myself, “Calm down, it's not everything that needs fight.” This self-talk do help me to control emotions.

  5. Manage Stress
Every night i do muscle relaxation excersice this will make me get control of myself the next day.

This way, anger won't always be in control of me — Instead I'll control it.

Perform a progressive muscle relaxation exercise, record a video, and write in detail how effective it is for you

Honestly this muscle relaxation exercise really work well for me. As I did it, I notice that my body do carry a lot of tension which I didn't know before. When I squeeze my hand, leg, face, then release it was , as If the stress just melt away. Since I was busy I creat time to the video of the deep breathing excersice. On a normal I don't do it for long but for the purpose of this post I tried to make it up to the 3 minutes truly it was worth it and beneficial to ease my mode.

  • Body Relief: My shoulder and neck which do always tight, come to loose. I feel much lighter and calm.

  • Breathing Better: As I inflate my chest and stomach, then release, my breathing become calm and cool. I don't rush breathing anymore, it's steady.

  • Mind Fresh: Before I start, my head was full with a lot of work thoughts. After the exercise, my mind was calm and vlear, I can reason well without pressure.

  • Mood Change: I feel happier, like a little joy just enter me. The exercise give me peace of mind.

  • Control Stress: Anytime stress want to hold me down, I can use this method to calm myself down. It's simple, no need for equipment, just me and my body.

For me, this exercise is a real reset button. It help me balance my body and mind together. I can do it before sleep, when work do choke, or anytime I want to relax.

There will be a short story, read the story and express your own thoughts.

My thoughts

  • Mr. Dipak mistake: He didn't control his anger. Instead of him to talk calm and find solutions, he uses insult and violence.

  • What he would have done:- He would have learn to have patience, care and respect for his family.

  • Wife mistake: She always plead for forgiveness everytime, without finding solutions.

  • What she would have done:- She would have report the abuse early. If she could have talk to family, friends or police before, maybe she would have survive.

  • Children mistake: Them do copy their father bad behavior. Instead of them learning good manners.

  • What they would have done:- They would have talk to teacher or counselor even their relatives about what is going on in the house.

  • General lesson: Violence don't always o solve problem. Communication, respect, and seeking help is very important for family peace.
