SEC-S30W3: Family Bonding Activities - Family bonding in childhood thief-Police games.
Reasons for choosing the Chor-Police game:
I chose the "Chor-Police" game with my family. In the era of smartphones, when we have forgotten traditional games, this indoor game has created a great connection of laughter and intellectual thinking among our family members. It especially helps in developing the thinking power of children. There is some luck involved as the babu(বাবু) is determined through lottery.
We used some very simple materials to play this game:
- Paper and pen: For writing names and scores.
- Scissors: For cutting the paper into four equal pieces.
- A mug: For raffle and as a prize for the winner.
Rules of the game:
First, we write on four pieces of paper— **(বাবু)Babu (500), (পুলিশ)Police (400),(ডাকাত) Robber (200) and চোর)Thief (100). The pieces are folded and put in a mug and four members draw like a lottery.
- Whoever gets "Babu" gets 500 points directly.
- Whoever gets "Police" has to guess who is "Thief" or "Robber".
- If the police guesses correctly, he gets 400 points, and the thieves and robbers get zero.
- If the police makes a mistake, he gets 0, and the thieves and robbers get their assigned points.

We had four participants in this family game: Anayet, Kona, Elma and Mehrimaa. After 5 rounds, our scores were as follows:

Final Results:
- Winner: Mehrimah (1200+ points). She received a "Winner Gift" mug as a prize.
- Loser: Enayet. As a punishment, she had to recite a rhyme in front of everyone.
Challenges & Benefits
- Challenges: The main challenge was to get everyone together. It was difficult to find time between the busy schedule of office, studies and work. However, for the sake of this event, we all sat together, putting away our mobile phones.
- Benefits: Our communication has increased through this game. This game helps in developing the intellectual decision-making ability of children. It has reduced our stress and brought us a sense of peace.
Who enjoyed this game the most?
Our youngest member Mehrimah enjoyed this game the most. Because she not only won, but she also enjoyed every moment of dodging the police. Her smile made our entire evening joyful.
