Assalamualaikum Warahmatullahi Wabarakatuh

Today, I have come to participate in the sixth week's contest of SC-S33/W6- "Explore and Review"- The city's attractive restaurants, cafes and food courts. Our dear brother @mahadisalim always presents very easy, smooth, and beautiful contests. I want to start by thanking him from the bottom of my heart, focusing today’s review on participating in today’s contest.

Beloved Aceh where I was born, raised, and started my own family is a deeply religious region. It is also renowned for its abundance of coffee shops, which serve as gathering spots for people from all walks of life. These shops are places where Acehnese locals gather to relax or even resolve various issues. One such establishment is BMW Kupi Pak Wa in Lhokseumawe City. It is easily accessible, situated at an intersection in a bustling area heavy with traffic.

Located in Kampung Jawa Lama, Banda Sakti District, it is a popular haunt for a diverse crowd ranging from the general public to office workers in this city known as "Petro Dollar." BMW Kupi Pak Wa is easy to reach from various directions, and the interior offers a cool, comfortable atmosphere. True to its name, the shop specializes in Boh Manok Weng coffee, a signature Acehnese beverage.

Kopi Boh Manok Weng (or BMW) is a traditional Acehnese drink made by whisking a mixture of brewed black coffee, free-range chicken egg yolk, and sugar or honey until it becomes frothy and creamy. Locals believe it boosts energy and restores stamina after a long day of activity, while also providing protein from the egg yolk. Personally, I was not very familiar with this particular coffee shop, as it is quite a distance from both my workplace and my home.

However, I happened to stop by briefly around midday because I was staying at a nearby hospital to care for my child, who was undergoing treatment. I decided to pause for a moment just to enjoy a cup of kopi pancung (a small serving of black coffee). The taste wasn't particularly special far from the coffee I usually enjoy at my regular haunt but I took advantage of this brief visit to capture some photos of the atmosphere at BMW Kupi Pak Wa.

From the outside, the coffee shop appears compact, housed in a two-story shophouse unit. Its exterior is unremarkable far from what one might call aesthetic though the left wall features a painting and a philosophical quote centered on the theme of coffee. The interior, including the bar and cashier area, also looks quite ordinary. It wasn't particularly crowded; only a few customers were present, enjoying their drinks. In addition to their signature "Kupi BMW," the shop offers a variety of beverages, including black coffee, sanger*, espresso, iced sweet tea, hot tea, teh tarik, Milo, and other refreshing drinks.

Prices are comparable to those at other coffee shops. A kopi hitam pancung (half-cup black coffee) costs just IDR 4,000 (equivalent to 6.5 Steem), while a sanger is IDR 6,000 or 9.76 Steem. Kopi boh manok weng (coffee with whisked egg yolk) is priced at IDR 15,000 or 24.39 Steem, and other drinks are sold at standard rates. Amenities include free, high-speed Wi-Fi, making it a comfortable place for customers to linger.

There is a prayer room on the side of the café and clean restrooms at the back. The service I experienced this morning was quite good, and the black coffee suited my taste perfectly. Motorcycle parking is ample and convenient, so customers need not worry; however, those arriving by car might feel a bit uneasy, as the parking area is rather tight, often requiring them to park on the side of a busy road.

You said BMW Kupi Pak Wa is famous for the locally popular coffee "Kopi Boh Manok Weng". You also said that it is made by whisking a mixture of boiled black coffee, local chicken egg yolk and sugar or honey. I got to know a completely new type of food from your article. Hopefully the drink will be very tasty.
You have observed and described the coffee shop very well. Your description gives important information about the coffee shop which is very important for a coffee lover. I wish you success in this challenge.
