Hi everyone , it's @investor08. I woke up this morning to the sound of rain tapping gently on the roof. The sky was covered in thick gray clouds, and the air felt cool and fresh in a way it doesn’t on normal days. The compound was quiet, except for the steady rhythm of the rain hitting the zinc and the leaves. It made everything feel calm and slow, so I just sat by the window for a few minutes before getting up. Watching the raindrops run down the edges of the roof gave me a peaceful start, and I felt grateful for the break from the usual heat.

After freshening up, I decided to take a quick picture of myself. The natural light from the cloudy day was soft, not too harsh like the afternoon sun usually is. I stood by the doorway so the rain in the background would show in the shot. It made the photo look different from my usual ones, more calm and a bit moody. I smiled and saved it, just something small to remember the mood of the morning. Sometimes these quiet moments are the ones I want to look back on later.

Later I headed out to the shop down the road to buy eggs for my meal. The road was a bit wet and muddy in places, but people were still moving about as usual, some with umbrellas and others just walking fast to avoid getting soaked. Eggs are quick to cook and go with almost anything, so I made sure to check each one before paying to avoid cracked shells. The shopkeeper and I exchanged a quick greeting about the weather, and then I made my way back home carefully, holding the eggs close so they wouldn’t break.

As I was going out to get something else, I noticed there was a polling unit set up around my area. I hadn’t realized it was there before, and seeing people gathered, talking and waiting their turn, made me pause for a second. Some looked serious, others were chatting casually while they waited. It reminded me that things were happening beyond my usual routine, and that today wasn’t just about cooking and chores. Seeing the setup made me think about how even on a rainy day, people still come out to take part in what matters to them.

On my way back, I stopped to appreciate nature. I spotted a tall coconut tree with a few birds perched on its branches, shaking off the raindrops as they moved. The rain made the green leaves look brighter and cleaner, and the whole scene felt peaceful. I took a picture of it because I wanted to keep that moment. With the sound of the rain, the birds resting on the tree, and the quiet of the morning all around, the day felt worth remembering. It was a simple morning, but it had enough small things in it to make me feel calm and present.
