The historic Sona Mosque of Bangladesh.
The above mentioned picture is of the Sona Mosque located in Chapainawabganj, my beloved homeland Bangladesh. This historic mosque is a remarkable example of pre-Mughal architecture. It is also known as an important part of the cultural and architectural heritage of Bangladesh. It was built between 1493 and 1519 during the reign of Sultan Alauddin Hossain Shah.
This historic mosque is located in the village of Pirojpur on the outskirts of the ancient city of Gauh. The mosque had 15 domes which were covered with gold-colored coating, which is no longer the case. The walls of this mosque were also covered with gold-colored coating or golden ornaments. According to that feature, this mosque was named Sona Masjid.
One of the features of this mosque is that it is a wonderful example of Sultanate architecture, which is known as the jewel of Sultanate architecture. The domes of the mosque are made in the style of the roof of a Chauchala house. Many tourists from home and abroad come here to enjoy the beauty of this ancient architecture. The structure of this historical mosque is famous for its stone carvings and ornate designs.
This historical sultanate jewel stands tall on the soil of Bangladesh. This ancient architecture is a source of pride for the people of Bangladesh and carries Bangladesh's reputation in the world.
