Silent Morning Arrangement: A Cup of Coffee and a Conversation with Yourself

Morning means a thousand busy activities. The noise of the world seems to press down on our necks as soon as we wake up from sleep. But sometimes we really want to rise above everything and spend some time with ourselves. This morning, just such a moment came to my life. When the dawn light was shining outside the window, and I had that familiar packet of Nestle Three-in-One coffee in my hand.

The sweet aroma that came to my nose as I tore open this coffee packet, instantly refreshed my tired mind. A mixture of coffee with hot water, and a piece of dry cake with it—for me, this arrangement was not just breakfast, but a piece of pure joy. I was mixing water in the mug very slowly, and the light layer of foam that was forming on the coffee was calming me down like the water of a calm pond.

As soon as I placed the dry cake in my mouth, the crunchy texture and candy flavor reminded me of a lazy afternoon in my childhood. Life can be moving speedy, but those little while seemed to stand still. When I took the mug in my hand and took the primary sip, it felt like all of the issues of the day had been melting away in the smoke of that one mug of espresso. This bitter-sweet taste of coffee and the softness of the cake—this combination is like a small metaphor for lifestyles to me. Where bitterness and wonder are mixed, existence is fulfilled.

I was sitting alone, but there was no moaning in that loneliness. Rather, there was a deep satisfaction. Making coffee with my own hands, then holding my beloved mug in both hands and feeling its warmth—the heavenly happiness that lies between all these is perhaps impossible to describe in words. For me, it is a means of talking to myself. In the rat race that the world is currently in, these few minutes of quiet time teach me to live anew.

Every morning gives us a new opportunity—to love ourselves a little, to find a little peace. My simple morning routine may seem simple to some, but to me, it is the ultimate gift. I don't know how you start your morning, but I believe—spending a little time at the beginning of the day with some of your favorite habits increases your motivation and energy for the whole day's work a lot. It is through this cup of coffee and a few pieces of cake that I find the meaning of my day today.
