Explore On The Maps: Explore Essential Daily Goods Zone

I think that there can be no greater reward for a middle-class family than a smile on the face of a child. For the past few days, my younger daughter Muntaha had been repeatedly asking to eat several types of fruits, including litchi, but since I did not have a salary by the end of May and the end of June, I could not buy her fruits even though I wanted to. A strange feeling of guilt was working in my mind. Finally, today, I visited about 3-4 shops in Mirpur 11 with all my means and bought some fresh lychees to bring a smile of satisfaction to my daughter's face. And while searching for this, I came across an unnamed but extraordinary mobile fruit shop next to Nannu Market, Mirpur 11, which meets the daily nutritional needs of countless local ordinary people. In today's post, I am presenting this shop and an emotional experience of mine to you.

✔ What type of essential daily goods zone did you explore? Where is it located? What type of transportation is required to get there? Give a brief description of the essential daily goods zone.

I have basically explored a mobile and temporary fruit stall (Sidewalk Fruits Shop) as a very important means of meeting our daily vitamin and nutritional needs.

  • Location: The shop is located right next to the famous Nannu Market in Mirpur, Section 11, of Dhaka city, on the sidewalk.

  • Directions: The easiest and most convenient means of transportation to reach here from any part of Mirpur is a rickshaw or an easy bike. Apart from that, since it is adjacent to the main road, it can be easily reached by taking a bus and getting off at the Mirpur 11 bus stand for 2-3 minutes on foot.

  • Brief Description: This is not a permanent shophouse. The seller sells fruits by setting up his mobile van or stall at this specific place on the sidewalk every day without any separate written agreement or advance payment. Although it is temporary, it is very important to the people of this area. Because seasonal fresh fruits are available here every day at very affordable prices. Especially the common people returning from the office or the market can easily and quickly buy the fruits they need from this shop. Since it is a temporary shop sitting on the sidewalk, it does not have any official name or signboard.

Fresh Himsagar Mangoes

✔ What types of services are available at the essential daily goods zone you explore? List of Service, price, (with pictures + videos + descriptions).

This zone mainly sells fresh fruits and has excellent facilities and services for choosing fruits based on the preferences of the customers. When I visited the shop, I saw a great combination of the two main summer fruits—mango and litchi. The details and price list of the products are mentioned below:

Food NamePrice (BDT)Price (STEEM)Price (USDT)
Lychee (100 Pices)350 Taka68.23 STEEM2.85 USDT
Langra Mango (1 KG)80 Taka15.59 STEEM0.65 USDT
Himsagar Mango (1 KG)100 Taka19.49 STEEM0.82 USDT

Conversion rates used: 1 USDT equals 122.62 BDT & 1 STEEM equals 5.13 BDT.

1. Fresh Langra and Himsagar Mangoes: I observed the mangoes arranged in the shop very closely and carefully. Each mango was absolutely fresh, crisp, and without any kind of stain. The natural scent of fresh mangoes, free from chemicals or formalin, was spreading all around.

2. Fresh Lychees: A bunch of fresh red lychees was arranged in rows. The seller was selling the lychees in bunches of 100. The lychees were quite large and juicy. However, I purchased 50 litchis from there.

✔ Discuss in detail the environmental situation of the essential daily goods Zone.

The environment of a temporary shop on a sidewalk is usually not as bright as a large shopping mall or super shop with artificial lighting or AC, but the seller of this shop tries to maintain cleanliness as much as he can.

Since the shop is located on the side of the road under the open sky, there is a risk of some dust, but the seller was constantly wiping the dust accumulated on the fruits with a clean cloth and sprinkling them with light water to maintain the freshness of the fruits. A small basket was kept next to the shop for throwing away fruit waste, stems, or peels, due to which the surroundings looked quite clean. Despite being a temporary shop, there was no chaos or long queues due to the crowd of buyers. Since it was on the open sidewalk next to the road, people could stand comfortably and check and sort the fruits in a completely open environment.

✔ Rate the place using 1 to 5 stars 🌟 in these three categories—product quality, service, and price—and briefly explain why you chose those stars. Share a brief description of your exploring experience.

I have mentioned the ratings and reasons for these fruits according to their categories below:

1. Product Quality: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ (5/5)

Reason: The fruits in the store were absolutely fresh and spotless. I brought the litchis home myself and saw, Mashallah, each litchi was very sweet and juicy. There was no rotten or stale fruit there.

2. Service: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ (5/5)

Reason: The seller's behavior was very friendly and sincere. Even if you do business on the sidewalk, you don't often see such elegant behavior with the buyer.

3. Price: ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Recommended (4.5/5)

Reason: The price is quite affordable compared to the current market and within the reach of the common man. There are no high prices or additional VAT of super shops here.

My Exploring Experience:

My experience exploring this shop was both emotional and very satisfying. For the past few days, my little daughter Muntaha had been repeatedly asking for fruits, but I was feeling a bit bad because I didn't have a salary. When I finally decided to buy her some fruits today, I visited about 3-4 shops in the Mirpur 11 area to find good litchi. After checking and choosing, I finally found this temporary shop next to Nannu Market to be the best.

While I was standing in the shop, looking at and testing the litchis, the wonderful behavior of the businessman captivated me. He was talking in a very nice and friendly tone and was describing the fruits in detail without any annoyance. He was saying everything with a smile: how fresh the fruits were and where exactly they were plucked directly from the tree. In the end, I bought 50 litchis from him for 180 taka and returned home. When I got home and gave the lychees to my daughter, and she smiled with satisfaction after eating them, all my fatigue as a father disappeared.

Conclusion:

In my opinion, these small temporary shops on the sidewalks are an unspoken lifeline in our busy urban life, fulfilling the needs of common people like us within reach. This fruit shop in Mirpur 11 provides great service to locals through its fresh produce and the seller's friendly attitude.
