What is Web 3.0?
Assalamu Alaikum
A new and powerful chapter in the evolution of the Internet is called Web 3.0. The first generation of the Internet (Web 1.0) was for reading information only, where users could only get information from websites. Then came the current Web 2.0, which allows us to give information on the Internet or participate in social media (Read-Write). But the major limitation of these two generations is that our information and control are in the hands of big tech giants. Web 3.0 is the future form of the Internet where the control of information will be in the hands of ordinary people, not companies. It is mainly being built on blockchain, cryptocurrency and artificial intelligence (AI).
The main philosophy of Web 3.0 is Decentralization. Currently, if we use Facebook or Google, all our data is stored on their servers. But in Web 3.0, there is no central server; The information is spread across thousands of nodes or computers through the blockchain network. Here, users can log in to various apps using their crypto wallet instead of an email or password. As a result, no company can censor your account or sell your personal information. In addition, smart contracts are used here, which automatically perform various tasks without human intervention.
The biggest advantage of Web 3.0 is user ownership. Here, you will have full ownership of what you create on a platform (such as images or videos) and you can sell it directly as an NFT. Secondly, it is very transparent and secure. Since the data is on the blockchain, it is almost impossible to be hacked or forged. In addition, the use of artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning in Web 3.0 will make search results and user interfaces much more personal and intelligent. This is called "Semantic Web", which will be able to understand the deep meaning of human language.
While the potential is great, there are some challenges in implementing Web 3.0. It is still quite complex for the general public, and blockchain transaction fees or gas fees can be expensive in many cases. In addition, the current Web 2.0 companies will not want to give up their dominance easily. However, the growing popularity of cryptocurrency, metaverse and DeFi apps proves that the world is slowly moving towards Web 3.0.
In short, Web 3.0 is a form of the Internet that will put users in the position of masters, not slaves. This is not just a change in technology, but a major reform of the power and freedom of information on the Internet. Although it is still in its infancy, Web 3.0, with the help of blockchain technology, will make our digital lives more secure, private and intermediary-free. Web 3.0 is a new ray of hope for those who want to maintain control in the technology-driven world of the future. Today's discussion concludes here. I hope you've found it interesting. Please share your thoughts on today's topic. Prayers for everyone. May everyone be well. Amen.
