Shenzhou-18 astronauts enter space station
On Friday, three astronauts aboard China's Shenzhou-18 spaceship entered the country's space station to meet with the Shenzhou-17 crew. This marks the start of a new crew handover in orbit.
The Shenzhou-17 crew opened the hatch at 5:04 a.m. (Beijing Time), and the three space station occupants welcomed and took group pictures with the new arrivals.
This meeting is part of the fourth in-orbit crew rotation in the China Space Station. The six astronauts will work together for about five days to complete planned tasks and handover work.
In simpler terms, the astronauts on two different spacecrafts met up in space to exchange work and complete tasks together.
