On the shore of Lake Wakatipu there is a small, cozy town Queenstown. Once upon a time gold was discovered in these places, a gold rush swept the district and seekers of fortune began to flock to the city. The fever ended, but the seekers remained and could not live their life in peace — their rushing souls needed adrenaline.

Now the town has turned into a tourist center, which has entertainment for every extreme taste - bungee jumping, paragliding, speed boats, rafting and much more. On one of the streets there are many shops offering extreme entertainment.

The embankment of the town looks something like this — Queenstown is located in a very beautiful place, mountains surround it from all sides.

And walking along it, you can always see something interesting from the activities. Parachuting behind a boat ...

... or just a pretty yacht)

Local entertainment can be bought in packages, then it will be cheaper. We chose a speedboat ride along the narrow canyon of the Shotover River — Shotover Jet. This is quite scary when the boat passes close enough to the rocks, if you wish (and if you are crazy) you can touch the stones. And the main thrill is a 360-degree turn.

Our beloved guide, Дима Козлов, immediately told us that the most interesting thing is to sit behind — when turning, the boat rises, and the sensations are more interesting. The red and blue jacket in the back row on the left are me and my girlfriend. The video below is bought separately, it consists of partly filming of exactly our trip, and partly of special filming from a copter another trip.

Our next adventure was Shotover Canyon Fox — crossing a river canyon on a cable (zipline) with a preliminary “cliff” and five meters of free fall. I am afraid of heights, so I did not agree to another adventure, such as bungee jumping or jumping into a canyon. Now I regret it a little, but at that moment it was very scary.

So, we chose this entertainment, arrived at the place, and the organizers began to equip me. They asked how I want to jump: you can run forward along the platform, or you can ride with your back, not knowing when the platform will end. I chose the second option and completely forgot about the fact that the rope “breaks” — I was not mentally prepared for this moment of free fall. Therefore, I got the whole gamma of feelings in full))) The video below is the promotional video provided on Shotover Canyon Fox site. At that time, we decided not to buy a shot of our jump.

High above the town there is a Skyline tourist complex, which offers excellent views of the city.

You can get here by gondola (cable line) and ride there ludges — these are such plastic troughs with simple mechanical control. It is better to buy a ticket for at least five trips, then you will get maximum pleasure. The photo below is taken by automatic camera on the route and also can be bought separately.

This day ended perfectly — with a tastiest burger, which is definitely a must try in Queenstown: Fergburger. Great and delicious!
And we have to move on!
