Hey Hive!

Sorry for the hiatus but we actually just came back from a trip to Busan! It was our first time there and we had such a great time that I will definitely share in the future, but for now let's continue with this trip to Seoul back in Nov 2022!

Last time, we continued our exploration of Hongdae - the art district of Seoul, where we ventured into the underground and discovered a hidden oasis!

It's this place called Coconut Box and it's like an indoor amusement/relaxation spot or as they claim, a "hybrid metaverse play garden". It was designed to look like a tropical villa and you get 1.5 hours to chill in their many cabanas or enjoy their other amenities like a huge ball pit!

It seemed like an influencer paradise and we had fun streaming there for a while since it'd been quite a long time away from my community.

There were still more things to see in the Coconut Box besides this like the neighbouring Love Museum where I definitely couldn't stream lest I get banned so here we go! I might have to censor some things I think but they're just for goofs so readers be advised for R+ content incoming!

11 Nov 2022. Friday.

I think we actually found out about the Love Museum first when we searched on Google and then realised it's a part of the Coconut Box so we had tickets to everything so we could see what they had to offer. We didn't know what it was about at the time other than some sus pictures we saw on Google but it was.. a unique experience we didn't mind trying so..

I guess the normal tickets were 8,000 KRW which is not bad, but because we bought tickets as part of the Coconut Box we didn't have to pay extra.

They curiously allowed photos which I was honestly surprised, and we laughed since they specifically said NO SEX is to be had here. I guess people might get randy from looking at the sculptures maybe?

Just at the entrance there were quite a few statues including a fat naked Cupid so I guess that alludes to what the rest of the museum was going to be like.

Just round the corner there were some famous paintings they had.. modified.

This one deeper past the entryway was a lot more explicit. But hey I mean, Michelangelo's David statue is completely nude and no one bats an eye at that so you know.

Each statue had a gimmick to it and initially I thought this little girl looked pretty normal, but then I realised under her was a mirror.

As we went more into the museum it got very explicit very quick. But they all looked so animated and fake anyway so it wasn't as graphic if that makes sense?

There were some interactive exhibits as well, like this one where you could turn the crank and the figures would move.

There were also lots of small cartoons on the wall where they sexualised a lot of famous characters.

Most of the comics were in an older style reminiscent of Archie.

And of course there were lots of photo spots as well. Initially I didn't think this see-saw was that bad until I saw what the "handles" were.

I'm not gonna share the photo that Sean took of me on the see-saw from his POV but you can imagine what that looks like.

His one was a pair of boobs which wasn't as bad. I think he deliberately wanted me to sit at the other one. 🤣

To go to the next section we had to walk under these huge pair of legs.

I'm not too sure what this one is about. I think I might've taken it from a wrong angle or something.

Of course there was a special Asian section as well since we were in Korea after all.

They even explained the art of Korean Erotic Painting, or Chunhwa which means spring painting since spring is when everything is full of life. Apparently this was linked to some Taoist s3x technique that was meant to enjoy s3xual satisfaction, heal disease and maintain a harmonious family.

I guess these were replicas of Korean erotic paintings back then. It was like looking at old-school p0rn or something.

But anyway, this was what the room looked like.

And there was another photo spot here which I just realised has a spiky appendage.

Back outside this small room there were more photo spots like this:

And this one with the strangely Italian-looking sushi chef with what looks like a Mona Lisa with a Korean wig.

Sean made me take a photo here. I think I had to tiptoe for this one since I was a little short.

I'm not sure why they used Vincent Van Gogh for this one, maybe because he had to Gogh to the bathroom? 😂

The rest of the museum was basically just these risque and/or weird photo spots.

That caption is very true btw.

This is what I imagine that movie Sausage Party to be like:

I think this was supposed to be a train of sorts but it was just too much, and very red for some reason. I guess it being a different colour is their way of making it more comical and less realistic and therefore gross-looking? Like it'd be more disturbing if it was more real I suppose.

More silly photo spots!

I tried my best to align the angle on this as best as I could.

Of course they had the Adam and Eve as well. I'm not sure why they were sitting on a couch though.

This was like those "Hot Singles in Your Area" ads that everyone on the Internet has seen at least once.

There were soo many photo spots we couldn't pose at them all.

There was also a very sus toilet that thankfully wasn't the actual toilet.

This one even had a stand for couples to take photos here and even the stand was risque!

And yes, we did take a photo here but I'm not gonna share that.

There was this art depicting the History of Mankind that I thought was kinda cool until I looked close and of course it was sus too.

This one made me laugh because of the frame with Robin kissing Batman. XD

This one was one of the few I couldn't even reach since it was too high. xD

But beside that was a huge bed that I asked Sean to go pose at for funnies.

I'm not sure who this guy is supposed to be but it looked like Rhett from Good Mythical Morning.

There was another wall of sexualised cartoons here.

And opposite that was a wall of.. love horoscopes? More specifically which position would be best for each horoscope.

There were so many goofy photo spots here it was impossible to get through them all.

This little display of a Japanese house also had some mini figures doing naughty things.

And of course we end with some more sus Disney characters because you know, people will always ruin your childhood.

After that we had some full circle back to the entrance! It was actually pretty amazing how they managed to fill such a small space with so many statues.

Unfortunately we couldn't get a photo of us both inside this thing which was obviously made for a couple.

I was too small for it anyway so I guess it doesn't really matter. After that it was still early so we went back out into the streets of Hongdae!

But I think I'll end it off here in case this post gets flagged or something. I really hope no one gets offended by this since nothing was real and the statues were just for funny photos. I also realised that the Coconut Box (including the Love Museum) has since closed down and is no longer there anymore so I'm glad we were able to experience it and share it with others!

Tune in for more adventures in Seoul next week! Thanks for reading!
