welcome back to this hike across Switzerland where today I'm gonna cross over this pass
you can see right here behind me it's kind of taken me about two to three hours to get to the top and then I'm gonna walk along the crest there for another two hours in the afternoon as you saw there came back to the exact same spot where I finished the last time I'm still here in the western part of Switzerland sent I mean yeah it's cold and it's looking beautiful
It's sunny outside perfect day for hiking this first part here is just leaving the city and we are going to get to the hiking trails very very soon the client has started now a bit but we have come upon this amazing field of flowers in the middle of the forest very beautiful spring is definitely here but it's now going all uphill all the way up there just as I was talking about spring I turned this corner and it's winter wonderland again still so much snow left from the recent snowfall
it's about 6-7 degrees Celsius right now so very comfortable with the jacket I assume it's gonna get hot very soon as I climbed this mountain one of the trails over there has been closed due to snow so I had to change plans and choose another one this one is looking beautiful as well just less snow on this one might take me a bit longer to get to the top because it's not as steep but definitely better to be safe so we're making a little detour already out of breath here it's quite hard going uphill with all the snow on the ground quite slippery still fighting to get up this path behind me haven't seen a signal hiker yet today we're making slow but steady progress finally reaching the top of the pass
I think it should really just be around the corner up here it's been hard climbing for 45 minutes but now that's a lot better the snow has vanished nothing slippery on the ground anymore so I'm moving a lot faster I'm not following quite a flat trail it's winding up the hill white curves had to walk back a little because I was following this trail down here but the way I need to go is actually up this hill just over this snow-covered field and I thought I had already reached the top of this path there's still a long long way off I've been walking for like one and a half hours now should take half an hour more Tara it's my lunch now it's getting deeper here but I'm sure it's gonna melt soon as it's really hot ten degrees now
I should pretty much be at the top gonna have a short lunch break here and then continue the hike after lunch found a little shortcut across this field full of energy again about two and a half hours more maybe three hours for today but it's bright and sunny awesome okay I've now reached an actual road this is leading up to this TV tower over there which is going to be the highest point of this hike I promise so I'm gonna be following this road for a while up the hill
it's so warm outside why is there even snow here that wouldn't be a good road to be on with the car just still too much snow to drive up here how am I going to continue my hike here there are some serious road blockage going on definitely don't want to fall down there so I'm gonna be extra careful okay think I'm good that's where I was crossing just gonna be at the top soon made it to the top here I'm tired I need a break I think it's been quite the climb but from now on should get easier truly amazing we you from up here now to the other side I can see the mountains in the background like over here we are at around 1400 meters above sea and I only have two more hours to go maybe even less but this time it's gonna go either straight or then downhill just had my first slip in the snow patch over there not too bad at all Durand now heading towards the TV tower and then I'm gonna follow the ridge I think finally at the TV tower
Now it took me longer than expected there's the sky skiing it is now finally going downhill but I'm just stumbling along this path but there's just too much snow is still on the trail few trees blocking the way of course that's not a problem I can go around it's just there but I think it broke just recently looks very fresh I have reached the end of today's section it hasn't been an easy hike by any means but the car is down there waiting for me it was just very snowy of mud on the ground so I slipped actually four times I was laying on the floor by it was a lot of fun definitely I did about five hours today I am very excited for the next sections coming up
